May saw the Little-Known Box May Birthday Edition winging its way to their subscribers to celebrate their 1st Birthday! They very kindly sent me their Birthday Box too – thank you so much Little-Known Box!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been a whole year since Little-Known Box launched their monthly beauty subscription box. I remember waiting, not so patiently, to be able to place my order for their launch box.
Promising to bring us beauty products from lesser known, new and upcoming brands, along with some familiar ones, they’ve not disappointed. They’ve gone from strength to strength and were also featured in the May TOP 9 beauty subscriptions by ELLEUK.
The Little-Known Box May Birthday Edition was jam-packed and I noticed when I picked it up, it was also rather heavy too!
So, let’s take a look at what products are within this classy black box!
Makeup Pouch – Full-Size £ 4.49
A classy black pouch with a gold zip, which matches the black and gold branding of Little-Known Box perfectly. Handy to keep your essentials in for a night out, or to just carry around in your bag. It’s perfect for all those smaller make up items and accessories that tend to get lost.
Technic Cosmetics Highlighter – Full Size £3.99
This is Technics Cosmetics new Get Gorgeous Highlighter in ‘Pink Sparkle’. A really pretty, shimmery pink to help you get your summer glow on! Plus, it’s alcohol-free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Technics Cosmetics have a whole range of very affordable makeup.
Nanshy Large Blending Brush – Full Size £5.95
Nanshy brushes are 100% Vegan, cruelty-free and PETA approved. This is a really lovely, soft & fluffy blending brush. It’s made with antibacterial synthetic bristles and can be used with powder, cream and primers. Just perfect for softening & blending any look and also for applying very subtle colour to the eyes. You can never have too many blending brushes; they’re just so useful for multi-tasking.
Spacemasks Eye Mask – Full Size £3.00
After taking the eye mask out and looping it over your ears, you can lay back, relax and enjoy as the mask starts to warm. Infused with Jasmine, The warmth is activated by a thin layer of iron filings combining with oxygen molecules in the air. Wear for 15 minutes and you’ll be so relaxed you’ll want to drift off straight to sleep.
Seacret Spa Makeup Remover Wipes – Full-Size £ 19.95
I’m really not a fan of wipes for removing make-up. I don’t mind them but I really like to double cleanse my face, when I wear makeup, to ensure every last bit of it has been removed. Then again, I am very fussy about my skincare routine.
These Seacret Makeup Remover Wipes, are pretty good if you are in a pinch, or a rush to just take everything off. They are quite hydrating and they don’t leave the skin feeling tight or anything.
I can’t say how well they remove waterproof makeup, as I’ve not worn any yet. As makeup remover wipes go, they are pretty decent. I wouldn’t pay £19.95 for any wipes though!
Betty Hula Body Moisturiser – Full Size £12.99
This Betty Hula Body Moisturiser in ‘Champagne & Spice’ smells just amazing. It’s a gorgeous shea butter body moisturiser. It also comes in Rum & Blackcurrant, which I really want to try because I just love this one! I also adore the packaging too; the 50’s vibe and colourful designs.
Fantastic to apply after bathing you will find that it absorbs into the skin easily and leaves it feeling, soft, hydrated and of course, smelling out of this world. It’s great for sensitive skins as it contains only Shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter, Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. It’s also good for stretch marks, scarring and soothing sunburn.
No parabens, no petrochemicals, no artificial colours, no sulphates. Suitable for Vegetarians.
They also have oils, hand creams and bath salts available, as well as some gorgeous gift sets, very beautifully packaged.
Oils of Heaven Organic Argan Oil – Travel Size £ 9.50
I’ve actually received this Oils of Heaven Organic Argan Oil before in other boxes. I’m a big fan of facial oils and I have used this oil previously before in my skincare routine and I still do use it every now and then. It’s a really good oil and has good benefits for the skin. I found it great when I had really dry and sensitive skin.
Organic Argan oil is cold pressed from Argan Kernels. Argan oil is rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids such as Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid and Oleic Acid, perfect for regenerating tissue and helping the skin retain its natural moisture.
Ingredients: 100% Organic Argania Spinosa L. kernel oil
Overall Thoughts About Little-Known Box May Birthday Edition
I thought the Little-Known Box May Birthday Edition was a really lovely box to celebrate their one year Birthday.
A nice assortment of skincare, body care and makeup, to pamper and treat us. The bonus make-up pouch was a really nice addition too. I really love that they kept it classy and simple, with the plain black and gold. It is perfectly fitting with their branding. I definitely think less is more with things like that, and if there’s one thing Little-Known Box do well, it’s being classy!
The stand out product for me in the Little-Known Box May Birthday Edition was definitely the Betty Hula Body Moisturiser – such a lovely discovery! I would love to try more of their products!
Thank you Little-Known Box for a year of fabulous boxes and discovering fantastic new & upcoming brands – and here’s to more discoveries in your future boxes!
