Mishi Box Reveal & Review August 2016

Mishi Box Reveal & Review August 2016

Time to take a look at what August’s Mishi Box had to offer. Mishi Box is a monthly Korean Beauty subscription box that is US-based. It does mean I have quite a long wait before I receive my box but it’s usually worth it. There were three full-sized items and 3 mini items in this box.

The first item that grabbed my attention was the sheet mask, I’ve been seeing these all over Instagram recently.

The 7 Days Mask by Forencos, I don’t watch any Korean Drama (for shame, I know) but if you do, then you are probably familiar with the Hallyu actor. Seven masks available, each providing different care and combined they will give you complete care in 7 days. I got Saturday, which is for Elasticity. Retail Price $3.00

I was quite excited to see this Heimish All Clean Balm. I originally saw this in a Korean Skin Care Haul on Youtube by Gothamista. I love her reviews; she is extremely knowledgeable and we have the same skin type too, which helps! She’s my go to Skin care Guru. Anyway, I have linked the video if you want to take a look. This cleansing balm is a sherbet type balm much like the Banila Co. one. It’s free of parabens and artificial colours and fragrances so great for sensitive skin. It would be great to use as a 1st cleanser, as the solid balm melts into an oil cleanser as you massage it into your skin. Retail Price $5.00 7ml mini size ( $22 120ml  fullsize)

The two other mini size items in this months box are both by Benton. The Aloe Vera Skin Toner and the Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel. I really like Benton products and I haven’t yet tried these so am looking forward to testing them out.

The Benton Aloe Vera Skin Toner is suitable for all skin types. Packed with ultra beneficial ingredients such as aloe and salicylic acid, this toner hydrates and preps your skin to help with the absorption of skin care products in the next step in your routine.

  • Aloe: Soothes, moisturises
  • Salicylic Acid: Exfoliates, reduces sebum, and is anti-inflammatory which is great for acneic skin.
  • Snail Mucin: Supports natural cell regeneration and replenishes moisture to increase firmness

Use after cleansing and pat into gently into skin. Retail Price $17 200ml

The Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel contains 80% aloe and propolis These powerful ingredients help soothe irritated skin, fade acne scars, brighten skin tone, and even main hydration throughout the day. This gel moisturizer is also fragrance free!

For all skin types, especially oily or congested skin.

  • Aloe: Soothes, moisturizers.
  • Propolis: Anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory. Great for acneic skin.

Use after cleanser and toner. Squeeze out an appropriate amount and rub evenly and spread onto face, then gently pat in for absorption. Retail Price $17.00 100ml

Now onto the second of the three full-sized products this month, First of which is this Berrisom Oops! My Lip Tint Pack. I’ve seen so many Youtube videos about these and have to admit to being that I’ve been kinda interested in trying one. It is a peel off, long-lasting lip tint. I got ‘Virgin Red’; have to love the name lol By the looks of it, it is the deepest shade of red, so if it works I’ll be happy. I can’t try it at the moment as my lips are not in tip-top condition at the moment. As soon as they are, I will do a full review on it. Retail $16.00 for 6 pack

This Graymelin Rice & Sugar Soft Scrub will deeply cleanse your pores and leave your skin feeling soft, smooth and moisturised. The black Sugar moisturises your, rice brightens the complexion and the canola oil makes the skin smooth & glossy. Retail Price $20.00 100g

Overall Thoughts

I was a little disappointed to see 3 mini items in this months box. What can I say, I like to get value for my money, so I like full-sized products. I mean, don’t get me wrong I am more than pleased to try the two Benton samples and the Heimish one BUT I would have preferred to have received more full-sized items.

It probably is better value if you live in the US but when I have to pay shipping on top to the UK it’s not that great value compared to others.

I actually have already paid for next months box but I have cancelled my subscription after that. I wanted to try Mishi Box for a while and will have had it for 3 months.

I do want to try to make sure that I get to try out a lot of different boxes, so September’s will be last box. I may come back to this at some point though.
