It’s no secret that I love skin care, so when I came across Rivage and their range of skincare products I was really interested in trying them. Rivage products are made with Dead Sea minerals and natural ingredients; sourced directly from Jordan.
Their products are also 100% natural and cruelty-free too.
‘Rivage began in 1996, when we were inspired by the power and results of the Dead Sea to transform the health of our skin and hair. The Dead Sea is the beginning of natural skin care – a healing and medicinal natural spa that has been celebrated since 3000 BC. Our skincare products are a fusion of the ancient and the modern. The minerals and botanicals that enhance our skincare blends are as old as time, but they are optimised and refined by our laboratories to deliver an amazing home spa experience. Each product in our range is carefully engineered to work in harmony with your skin’s natural qualities to renew, detoxify and nourish your skin, naturally.’ – Rivage Website
I contacted Rivage to inquire if they’d be happy to send me some sample of their products so I could try them out and review them on my blog. They were absolutely lovely and sent me a bunch of products from their range to try.
Rivage Emolient Hand Cream
It’s a lightweight feeling cream but it packs a moisturising punch. Not only will it moisturise your hands, it will leave them feeling silky soft too.
It’s particularly great for really dry skin. It absorbs quickly into the skin and feels a little bit like you’ve put silicone primer on your hands, immediately after applying HOWEVER this feeling doesn’t last very long. Just a minute or two. After that there is no greasy residue, like some hand creams. You’ll just have lovely soft hands. You can apply this hand cream as and when you need it. If you have really dry, chapped hands, then apply as often as you want, plus apply it before going to sleep too.
Did I also mention that it smells amazing too? No? Well, it does!
Rivage Mineral Toner (Alcohol-free)
The Rivage Mineral Toner might just possibly be the best smelling toner I have used to date. It has such a gorgeous scent, I think that probably stems from the rose extracts that it contains. It is also rich with pro-Vitamin B5 and various botanical extracts such as Fennel, Balm Mint, Chamomile and Mistletoe. It honestly smells SO good!
My sensitive dry skin doesn’t react to it, so there was no redness or irritation on application, or afterwards. There’s no tight feeling, that you can sometimes get after using a toner. Just soft, balanced skin which is all prepped for the next step of your skin care routine.
Rivage Eye Cream
It contains Jojoba and Avocado oils which help with moisturising and elasticity. Beech Tree Buds extract help to eliminate wrinkles and signs of premature ageing. Also, it has a,
‘developed formula with suitable concealing makeup base matrix to provide covering effect for better complexion.’
Due to this formula and the other beneficial ingredients, the delicate skin under the eye will look and feel refreshed and rejuvenated. Giving a smoother, firmer, youthful dewy complexion. The area becomes brighter and fine lines are diminished too.
The eye cream itself has quite a thick, creamy texture but it does apply really nicely to the skin and absorbs easily too.
It’s a really lovely eye cream, especially for daytime use. It’s really great if you don’t like wearing make-up every day but still want to have a bright, smooth under eye area.
You can see from the photos above that although the effect is not dramatic, there is a reduction in the finer wrinkles below my eye. The small darker pigmentation spot has also been lightened and the whole under eye does look brighter.
Rivage Nourishing Body Mud Mask With Fruit Extract
The Rivage Nourishing Body Mud Mask With Fruit Extract is an absolute joy to use. Yes, it can get a little messy but hey, it’s mud and it’s totally worth it!
‘The valuable and ancient black mud of the Dead Sea that make up this formula, is rich in revitalizing precious minerals such as Magnesium, Potassium, Sulphate, Lithium and others. It removes dead skin cells, removes excess sebum and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine signs. The plant nutrients of ‘Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil and Papaya extract increases cell renewal and revitalize the skin, shrinking pores. The mud provides the essentials to nourish, soothe and relax the skin, leaving it fresh and purified with a healthy and renewed skin.’ – Rivage Website
Just apply this mud mask 30 minutes before taking a shower and simply wash off. Both I and one of my sons tried this and we were both left with amazingly soft skin afterwards. It also leaves the skin moisturised and smelling fantastic too. It doesn’t have that slightly unpleasant smell that a lot of mud masks can have.
Assorted Rivage Facial Mud Masks
Rivage also sent me 4 of their Facial Mud Masks to try. I received one each of Dead Sea Brightening, Nourishing, Purifying and Moisturising Facial Mud Mask.
These are really lovely facial mud masks and there is plenty in each packet to cover the whole face and neck area.
I’ve not yet tried all of these but I did try the Dead Sea Nourishing Facial Mud Mask with Honey Extract. I applied the mask with a brush just to make things easier and less messy. It’s quite a thick mud and I recommend massaging the packet before use, due to the oils in it.
The mask actually smells really nice and felt lovely and cooling on the face and neck.
After applying the mask simply wait for around 30 minutes, then gently rub it to exfoliate the skin and remove the mask in the same process.
This is quite a messy procedure, so definitely do this over the sink, or I guess in the shower would work too. It comes off very easily and despite being a bit messy, feels really good. Any remaining mask can be washed off with some warm water.
On the left you can see how my skin looked before using the mask and on the right, you can see how it looked after.
It’s brighter, clearer and it definitely removed impurities from all my pores. My skin was left feeling extremely soft and hydrated.
I’m looking forward to trying the 3 other Rivage Facial Mud Masks too.
Rivage also added in some extra samples of their Day Cream for Dry & Sensitive Skin, Creamed Facial Mask for Dry & Sensitive Skin and their Night Cream with Jojoba Oil.
Both the Day & Night creams are really lovely. They smell wonderful, which I always appreciate in any skincare that I use because I am very sensitive to smells. If products have no smell, that is fine but if something smells too strong or I find the smell unpleasant, it doesn’t matter how good the product is, I just can’t use it. They hydrate and moisturise the skin and the creams feels rich and luxurious on the skin. They are both easily absorbed and leave the skin feeling soft and nourished.
The Creamed Facial Mask is also nice, I patch tested this on my skin and had really lovely results. It is also a mud mask but feels a little richer in texture than the other masks. I’d say it is also more moisturising too and seems to have a slightly oilier feel to the mud.
If you’ve not heard of Rivage, I highly recommend checking out their range of products. They have a fairly wide range and with product prices starting as low as £3.99, they are also very reasonably priced too.
They definitely will not break the bank. All their products are cruelty-free and 100% natural too.
