There have been quite a number of new beauty and health subscription boxes this year and one of them is Vertue Box.

Vertue Box is all about gentle, yet effective products. All of which have pure ingredients and are free from known toxins. They feature award-winning products as well as products from up and coming brands too. It’s a great way to discover new products each month.
One brand that has 3 items in this months Vertue Box is Madara. I’d never heard of this brand before receiving my Vertue Box.
Madara were Winner of Best Natural Face Cream at the 2014 Natural Health Beauty Awards and Highly Commended as Best Anti-Ageing Skin Care System at the 2016 Natural Health Beauty Awards.
The especially effective plant ingredients in MADARA products are nurtured in the rough climate of northern Europe by the Baltic Sea. With severe winters and short summers unique plants have evolved with high concentrations of bioactive molecules which protect them from these climatic extremes. MADARA are entirely natural and ecological cosmetics certified by ECOCERT. – Source
Madara Micellar Water RRP £12.00 – First off, I want to talk about the packaging of this Micellar Water. I really love it; it’s really pure and clean-looking. It smells really lovely and feels cool and soothing on my sensitive skin, much in part to the calming Northern Peony it contains.
However, it’s not great at getting mascara off. Light make up, yes, but if you wear waterproof mascara I doubt this will get it off. I don’t wear make up very often these days, so using this on a day-to-day basis is great. It’s very hydrating thanks to the Hyaluronic Acid and doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight or dry. I really loved this product.
Wild Nutrition Food-Grown® Vitamin D RRP £10.00 – You get 60 capsules in this bottle of Vitamin D. It’s good for your bones teeth, muscle function, the immune system and also helps to increase calcium absorption. I’m also pleased to see that it is good for those that lack good sunlight exposure, even in the summer months. Being stuck indoors all the time due to my illness I never get sunlight exposure, so these are excellent.
Vitamin D / Winter sunshine
Vitamin D / Strong bones & teeth
Vitamin D / Healthy immunity
Madara Time Miracle Trial Set RRP £1.00 – This pack contains 5 sachets of Madara products to try out. All products are supercharged with Madara Proprietary cell repair bio-complex and based on rejuvenating Northern birch juice with 0% added water.
I’m happy to have these samples to try, as this is new brand to me and I would like to try more of their range.
Pack contains –
1 x Age Defence Day Cream 1.5ml
1 x Total Renewal Night Cream 1.5ml
1 x Ultimate Facelift Day Cream 1.5ml
1 x Cellular Repair Serum 1.5ml
1 x Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream 1.5ml
Madara Exfoliating Oil-to-Milk Scrub RRP £6.00 – A really lovely exfoliating scrub. It’s not harsh at all. When you apply and start to gently rub your face it turns to a milky, creamy consistency that gently exfoliates and removes dirt, dead skin and impurities. Leaving your skin feeling soft, hydrated and positively glowing. I had no irritation using it on my sensitive skin either.
The Vegan option was the Madara Hydra Mask Moisture and Radiance.
Nailberry ’50 Shades’ RRP £14.50 – This was one of two shades available, the other shade was ‘Silver Lining’. I really love this colour though as I tend to lean towards darker colours most of the time when it comes to nail polish. Nailberry polishes are all cruelty free and vegan. A breathable sheer Grey black nail polish that contains no formaldehyde, toluene, camphor, DPB and ethanol.
Au Naturale Powder Eye Shadow in ‘Tupelo/Chrome’ RRP £12.00 – I received the shade Tupelo. It’s a really, pretty shimmery beige and applies very easily; though don’t overload your brush because of fallout. All Au Naturale Powder Eye Shadows are paraben-free, fragrance-free, gluten-free, bismuth oxychloride-free, non-nano, carmine-free, vegan, cruelty-free, and made in the USA.
Overall Thoughts on December’s Vertue Box
This months Vertue Box was themed, Gorgeously Green and I feel that they have included fantastic products to not only look gorgeous but feel gorgeous on the inside too. It’s a refreshing change to see a box that includes something like the Wild Nutrition Vitamin D.
I love the Nailberry polish and I am excited to try the samples in the Time Miracle Trial Set by Madara. I really loved their Micellar water and Exfoliating Oil-to-Milk Scrub so I have high hopes that their other products will be just as good.
Overall, Vertue Box is a really lovely selection, of cruelty free, clean, green beauty and well-being products. If you’re thinking about switching to cruelty free and green products then this is a really fabulous box to discover new brands and their products.
Vertue Box have done all the hard work for us, sourcing and curating the best products they can find from award-winning brands and new, up and coming brands. It’s sometimes overwhelming switching over to greener, cruelty free products because it can be hard to know where to start and where to look to find them.
Subscribing to Vertue Box makes it a lot less hassle. You can just sit back, and every 2 months receive a beautiful box of green, clean and cruelty free products straight to your door.
