I was recently asked if I would be happy to be sent 2 sheet masks to review by B Beauty Ltd. Of course I said yes because I do love to sheet mask and use one several times a week, if not every night of the week sometimes. I love them, so I am always very enthusiastic discovering new sheet masks brands and trying them out.
B Beauty Ltd is a relatively new company run by Lisa and Madoka.
Lisa and Madoka want to show English women the beauty of sheet masks and how easy they are to use, not to mention how beneficial they are to the skin too.
Lisa fell in love with sheet masks after visiting Tokyo with her sister-in-law and because Madoka missed being able to sheet mask, she used to get her mother to send them over to the UK because she couldn’t find equivalent ones here. In 2015 they decided to bring masks over from Japan and start B Beauty Ltd.
The Japanese sheet masks that B Beauty Ltd stock are infused cotton ones. They are very gentle on the skin, even for sensitive skins and they all contain Aloe Vera which soothes and moisturises. All of the masks they sell are also Paraben free too.
Why B Beauty?
In Japan, beauty or 美, is an important part of everyday life and thousands of people buy masks, just like the ones we’re selling, every day in aid of their own 美.
The Japanese symbol within our logo is the Kanji sign for beauty.
美 is pronounced ‘be’ or simply ‘B’ in English. As a Japanese-English start-up with the hope of spreading beauty around the world, we thought it fitting to call ourselves Bbeauty(美beauty) or beautybeauty if you speak Japanese! We hope this helps you to ‘Lovely your skin’.
Lovely your skin? – that’s the Korean manufacturer’s slogan for their products, which we liked, and if you have ever been to Japan, sounds such a Japanese thing to say – B Beauty Website
I was sent a Ceramide Essence Mask and also a Jojoba Oil Facial Essence Mask to review.
The first one I tried was the Ceramide Essence Mask. This mask is good for skin nutrition, moisturising and softening.
The Ceramide extract helps to keep your skin moisturised and soft. it also supplies nutrition to your skin.
Ceramides are a family of waxy lipid molecules. A ceramide is composed of sphingosine and a fatty acid. The word ceramide comes from the Latin cera (wax) and amide. Ceramide is a component of vernix caseosa, the waxy or cheese-like white substance found coating the skin of new-born human infants. – B Beauty Website
Aqua, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Allantoin, Carboner, Panthenol, PEG-60 Hydronated Castor Oil, Triethanolomine, Ceramide 3, Disodium EDTA, Aloe Barbadenisis Leaf, Boswellia Serrata Gum extract, Fragrance, Sodium Hyalauronate, Sodium Polyacrylate
The packaging is nice and there were clear instructions in English on the reverse on how to apply the mask and for how long etc, plus a list of the ingredients too.
The first thing that struck me about this mask was that it was really dripping in essence and I mean that quite literally, as it dripped a lot whilst I was unfolding it. Not only that but the essence wasn’t some watery nonsense, this essence had a fairly thick viscosity. You can’t really tell from the photo but it really was soaked through with essence and was a lot of fun to unfold because it was so slippery. Definitely not a bad thing though, even if a bit fiddly. You at least know your skin is going to be thoroughly drenched in essence.
I was really impressed with the fit of the sheet mask too. It was a nice thickness and fitted very well; would have been an even better fit if it wasn’t for my slightly lopsided placement! I didn’t notice till after taking the pic that I had missed folding down one side bit of the nose flap too.
I love that it had small slits around the outside edge, either side of the mouth and across the chin area. This allowed you to really fit the mask to the contours and shape of your face allowing for a really snug fit. You can see this in the photos below. (Oh and please excuse the lovely grey roots lol)
The mask smelt really nice as well. It wasn’t an overpowering scent either. Just light and refreshing. It felt really nice and soothing on the skin too. Fit and texture wise it’s actually one of the nicest masks I’ve used to date.
I was able to wear this mask for nearly an hour before it started to dry out. That was with sitting with a fan blowing at me too. Like I said, it was dripping in essence so it kept the mask wet for a long time. It does say 20 – 30 minutes as suggested length of time to wear it.
After removing it, the mask was still quite wet and my face felt so refreshed. My skin was much brighter and more even toned. The redness I had previously was calmed too plus my skin, especially under the eye area, was plumper. Overall my skin felt a lot firmer. It was smooth, soft and very well hydrated too.
My Overall Thoughts on the B Beauty Ceramide Essence Mask
This mask gets a BIG thumbs up from me. I was really impressed by the fit, the wear time and the results of this mask. I have sensitive and dry skin and I had absolutely no adverse reaction to this mask at all. I was just left with soft, bright glowing skin that felt as good as it looked.
Where Can I Buy It?
