This month I received my May 2016 Kawaii Panda Box. I’ve really been enjoying Korean skin care & beauty products as they are just so good and never irritate my extremely sensitive skin. So when I saw a beauty box for Korean beauty & skincare, of course, I had to order it.
This beauty box works slightly differently to my other subscription boxes as it’s not actually a subscription. You have to go to their website and order the box each month. The beauty of that, is if there’s a month you can’t afford it, or just don’t want it, well, you just don’t order it. They also do a monthly sheet mask box too, and I will certainly be trying that out the next box I order, most likely in July, as I already ordered the June Kawaii Panda box! The boxes are available to order from the 1st of a month.
Oh and also, another great thing is this box promises:
“a mix of 5 FULL SIZE items which will include a range of makeup and skincare products.”
How great is that, eh? But now onto this months products.
Luminous Goddess Aura Crystal Light Bronze Glam by Tony Moly
The first product is a Luminous Goddess Aura Crystal Light Bronze Glam by Tony Moly. A gorgeous dewy liquid, that gives a shimmery bronze glow to the skin. I noticed it also smells lovely too and has real staying power. Perfect for tanned skins in the summer no doubt, or those with a darker complexion! 10ml Full Size: Retail $10-$12 (approx £6.80-£8.20)
Tony Moly Luminous Goddess Aura Crystal Light ‘Bronze Glam’ – 10ml Full Size: Retail $10-$12 (approx £6.80 – £8.20)
Collagen Power Firming Eye Cream by Mizon
Mizon Collagen Power Firming Eye Cream is a light, almost gel-like consistency eye cream,
containing highly concentrated collagen. I already have some Mizon products so I expected this eye cream to be good and it was. Dabbing the cream around the eyes, it absorbs into the skin effortlessly and leaves the eye area feeling moisturised and refreshed. I found the gel-like cream has an almost cooling effect. It has a pleasant, refreshing smell and I will definitely continue using it. 10ml Full Size: Retail £8.98
The Multi Balm Beauty by RiRe
The RiRe Multi Beauty Balm is an all-around balm for skin, nails and even hair. It contains 7 types of berries and 7 naturally derived oils. I couldn’t really detect any real scent from it which was a little disappointing as I expected it to smell fruity. The balm itself is very light. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling clogged or greasy like some balms do. It sinks into the skin and I find a small amount goes a long way. I’ve been using this on my lips overnight the past 2 or 3 days as I suffer from dry lips and they do feel a lot softer. I have also been using it on a stubborn patch of dry skin on my elbow where I tend to get flare ups of Psoriasis. It has really made a difference to that. 20ml Full Size: Retail £16.99
Aqua Glow Mist by 3W Clinic
I have also been using the 3W Clinc Aqua Glow Mist every day and I really love it. It comes in a generous sized 150ml bottle.
“It’s a gel type soothing facial mist formulated with Deep Sea Water and Salmon roe extracts.
Hold bottle 20-30cm distance from face when spraying.
Spray mist over the face from time to time to
supply moisture and refreshment to skin.”
Just liberally spray on your face when your skin needs an instant moisture boost or a general pick me up. It’s light, very refreshing and wakes your skin up. It also happens to have a really lovely scent too. This is definitely something I will be repurchasing when I run out. 150ml Full Size: Retail £6.00 approx.
Fresh Mate Sleeping Mask ‘Basil Hydrating’ by A’pieu
I tested this out the other night and was really impressed by it. It has a light consistency somewhere between gel and cream. It glides onto the skin like a dream and absorbs quickly. The scent I would say is a pleasant citrus one but it’s not strong so those that don’t like heavily scented products should be ok with using this. It left my face feeling really soft the next morning, so I will be alternating this into my nightly routine with my 2 other sleeping masks. 50ml Full Size: Retail £6.00 approx
Overall Thoughts About the May 2016 Kawaii Panda Box
I really loved everything about this box. It allows me to try Korean beauty and skincare products that I might not otherwise be able to get my hands on. It’s definitely a big plus that each box contains 5 full sized products. Whilst I love that other boxes have very pretty packaging because you know, who doesn’t love that; I do like that this is simply packaged and the real value is in the products. It doesn’t need to be all pretty as once you open the box up the contents speak for themselves. My only suggestion would be an information card which at the moment it lacks, so you have to google the products to find information about how to use them and how much they retail for. It’s not hard, just it would be more convenient to have a little card in or even a link on their website with that month’s items. Other than that, the May 2016 Kawaii Panda box gets a HUGE thumbs up from me.
