My 10 September Favourites
Here are the 10 September favourites that have made my month a little better, from tasty treats and useful finds to cosy autumn favourites and things I’ve simply been enjoying this month.

My Favourite Food Find – YuBi Lemon Cheesecake Protein Bar
I’m a big fan of anything lemon flavoured, so when I discovered the YuBi Lemon Cheesecake Protein Bar, I was very keen to give it a try!
It’s also a particularly good find for me at the moment because I’m type 2 diabetic and currently taking Mounjaro for my diabetes, so I’ve been paying much more attention to the snacks I choose. I’m not looking for something that’s going to be packed with sugar, and the fact that this little 35g bar contains just 1.1g of sugar really caught my attention.
Mounjaro has also changed the way I approach food. My appetite is much smaller than it used to be, so I often find that I’d rather have something small and satisfying than a large snack. That’s where a bar like this can work really well for me. It gives me 10g of plant protein and 2.5g of fibre in a relatively small snack, without feeling like I’m eating a huge amount.
Of course, everyone’s experience with Mounjaro and diabetes is different, and I’m certainly not suggesting that a protein bar is a substitute for a balanced diet or medical advice. For me, though, having convenient snacks that fit more comfortably into the way I’m eating now has been really useful.
And thankfully, this one doesn’t feel like a compromise!
It’s All in the Flavour!
The lemon cheesecake flavour is right up my street. It has a creamy white chocolate-style coating, a crispy texture and a lemon caramel centre, giving it that lovely combination of sweetness and zing that reminds me of lemon cheesecake.
I particularly like that the lemon flavour cuts through the sweetness. Some protein bars can taste a little too heavy or overly sweet, but this has that sharp lemony note that makes it feel much more like a little treat.

At 99 calories per bar, with 10g of protein, 1.1g of sugar and 2.5g of fibre, it has become a handy option for when I fancy something sweet but don’t want a big snack.
For someone like me, who is trying to be more mindful of sugar while managing type 2 diabetes and eating smaller portions while taking Mounjaro, those numbers make this a particularly appealing little bar.
And the biggest test? I actually enjoy eating it! Sometimes the healthier or more suitable option can feel like the sensible choice rather than the exciting one, but I genuinely look forward to having this.
More YuBi Flavours to Try
If lemon cheesecake isn’t your thing, there are several other YuBi flavours to choose from, so you don’t have to stick with just one.
I actually really like that you can choose how you buy them, too. You can build your own box and pick the flavours you fancy, or go for one of their variety boxes if you’d rather have a selection to try.
If you already know your favourite, you can also buy boxes containing a single flavour, which is ideal if you’ve found one you absolutely love and don’t want to end up with flavours you’re less keen on.
And if you’re anything like me and hate discovering that you’ve run out of your favourite snack, YuBi also offers a subscription option, so you can have your bars delivered regularly without having to remember to reorder them.
I think that’s a really handy option, especially if you’ve found a snack that has become part of your routine.
So, the YuBi Lemon Cheesecake Protein Bar has definitely earned its place as one of my September favourites. It’s small, tasty, satisfying and has a fraction of the sugar you might expect from something with a cheesecake-inspired flavour.
⭐ My verdict: 5/5 – A delicious little protein bar with a lovely zingy lemon flavour, low sugar and plenty of protein. Definitely one I’ll be keeping in the cupboard for when I fancy a small sweet treat.
Fancy trying YuBi for yourself? You can explore the different flavours, create your own box or choose from their variety and single-flavour boxes. There’s also a subscription option if you want to make sure your favourites keep arriving. They are also available on Amazon Prime at no extra cost!

Something That Made Life Easier
My Mini Fridge
This might seem like a slightly unusual thing to include in a monthly favourites post, but honestly, my mini fridge has made such a difference to my everyday life that it absolutely deserves a place on this list.
I have been bedridden for 15 years, and I cannot use the stairs at all, so having the things I need on the same floor as me isn’t simply a convenience — it’s really important for my day-to-day life.
That’s where this little mini fridge has been such a brilliant addition.
And during the warmer weather, it has been amazing.
Cold Drinks Without Leaving My Room
One of the biggest benefits is being able to keep my drinks really cold and have them right beside me.
I always have bottled still water nearby, and during those hot days there is nothing better than being able to reach for a lovely cold bottle of water without needing to rely on someone else to bring one up from the kitchen.
It might sound like a small thing, but when you can’t use the stairs at all, being able to have your own cold drinks within easy reach makes a surprisingly big difference.
The fridge also gives me somewhere to keep some of my protein snacks, so I can have a small selection available upstairs whenever I fancy something.

A Fridge for My Medication Too
Another really useful thing for me is having a dedicated fridge upstairs for my insulin and Mounjaro, rather than having to keep them in the main fridge in the kitchen.
Because I can’t use the stairs, having my medication on the same floor as me is so much more practical. I don’t have to depend on someone else going downstairs and bringing it back up whenever I need it.
A quick but important note: medication needs to be stored according to the specific instructions for that medication, so I don't rely on the mini fridge's advertised temperature alone. I use a thermometer to keep an eye on the temperature inside, and I'd always recommend checking the storage requirements for your own medication and speaking to your pharmacist or healthcare professional if you're unsure.
For me, though, having a suitable cooling option upstairs has made accessing the things I need much easier.
Small But Surprisingly Spacious
The fridge itself is a 15-litre mini fridge, which I’ve found to be a really useful size. It’s compact enough to fit comfortably upstairs but still gives me plenty of room for drinks, snacks and the things I need to keep cool.
It’s designed to hold up to around 21 cans, and it has a removable shelf and door basket, which makes it easier to organise the contents depending on what I’m storing.
It also has cool and warm functions, as well as an ECO mode, and comes with AC and 12V power options. I mainly use mine for keeping things cold, but I like having the extra flexibility there if I ever need it.
One of My Best Practical Purchases
I honestly didn’t expect a small mini fridge to make such a noticeable difference to my everyday life, but it really has.

For someone who can move freely around their home, having a fridge upstairs might seem like a luxury or simply a nice-to-have. For me, it’s genuinely useful because I cannot use the stairs at all.
Having cold bottled water, protein snacks, insulin and Mounjaro close by means I can access the things I need without having to rely on someone else to go downstairs for me.
And during the warm weather, being able to reach for a really cold drink whenever I want has been absolutely brilliant.
It’s one of those purchases that might not sound particularly exciting, but once you’ve got one, you realise just how useful it can be.
⭐ My verdict: 5/5 – A genuinely useful addition that has made my everyday life easier. It’s compact, practical and gives me a convenient way to keep drinks, snacks and appropriately stored items close by. It just had to be part of my September favourites!
For anyone who spends a lot of time in one room, works from a home office, wants a fridge for a bedroom or simply needs cold drinks and snacks close at hand, a mini fridge like this could be a really useful addition.

My Beauty Favourite
Mixsoon Bean Essence
My beauty favourite this month has to be the Mixsoon Bean Essence. It’s one of those skincare products that I didn’t expect to become such a regular part of my routine, but I’ve been reaching for it again and again.
What I particularly love is how my skin feels after using it. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated, plump and beautifully glowy, without feeling heavy or greasy. It gives my skin that lovely fresh, healthy-looking finish that I’m always hoping to get from my skincare.
The texture is another thing I really like. It feels lightweight going onto my skin and is easy to work into my routine, so it doesn’t feel like I’m adding another complicated step.
My Post-IPL Skincare Favourite
One of my favourite times to use the Mixsoon Bean Essence is after doing an at-home IPL treatment on my face.

After IPL, I like keeping my skincare routine simple and concentrating on making my skin feel comfortable and hydrated. The Mixsoon Bean Essence has become one of the products I particularly enjoy reaching for afterwards because my skin feels soft, hydrated and plump, and I love the glow it gives me.
Obviously, everyone’s skin is different, and if you’ve used an IPL device, it’s important to follow the skincare and aftercare instructions that come with your particular device. I also wouldn’t use any product immediately after treatment unless it’s suitable for your skin and recommended as part of your aftercare routine.
For me, though, when I’m ready to moisturise and look after my skin following my IPL routine, this is one of the products I really enjoy using.
Why It’s Made My September Favourites
I think what makes this one of my September favourites is simply how my skin looks and feels when I use it. Hydrated, plump and glowing is exactly what I want from my skincare, and this has become one of those products where I notice the difference in how my skin feels.
It’s also a nice reminder that skincare doesn’t have to involve a complicated 12-step routine. Sometimes finding one product that your skin genuinely enjoys is much more satisfying.
If you’re looking for a new essence to add to your skincare routine and like that fresh, hydrated, glowing-skin look, the Mixsoon Bean Essence is definitely one I’d recommend having a look at. It definitely earned its place in my September favourites!
⭐ My verdict: 5/5 – A lovely lightweight essence that leaves my skin feeling hydrated, plump and glowing. It’s become a particular favourite after my at-home IPL routine, and I’ll definitely be keeping it in my skincare collection.

My Favourite Drink
MyProtein Clear Whey + Collagen – Vimto®
I’ve never really been a fan of traditional protein shakes. Anything that tastes thick, creamy or remotely like a milkshake just isn’t for me, so I’ve always found getting enough protein into my diet a bit of a challenge.
I wanted to find something that would help me get more protein into my day without having to force myself to drink something I didn’t actually enjoy. That’s when I discovered the MyProtein Clear Whey + Collagen in Vimto® flavour — and I’m genuinely hooked!
It Really Does Taste Like Vimto!
The biggest selling point for me is the flavour.
It tastes like Vimto squash!
Honestly, that’s the best way I can describe it. It’s fruity, refreshing and has that unmistakable Vimto taste that I already love. The only difference I notice is that it’s slightly more viscous than ordinary Vimto squash, but it’s so minimal that I barely notice it.
And that’s exactly what I wanted from a protein drink, and exactly why it’s one of my September favourites.
I don’t feel like I’m drinking a protein shake at all. It’s much more like having a really nice, cold glass of Vimto — except I’m getting a decent amount of protein at the same time.
Protein AND Collagen
Each 25g serving provides 20g of protein, including 10g of bovine collagen peptides, as well as 52mg of vitamin C. It contains just 88 calories and 0.6g of sugar per serving, according to MyProtein’s current nutritional information.
The addition of collagen was another big attraction for me. I was already looking for an easy way to increase my protein intake, so having protein and collagen together in one drink makes it a really convenient addition to my routine.
MyProtein explains that protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass and normal bones, while vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation and normal immune function.
Perfect If You Don’t Like Protein Shakes

I think this is where this product really stands out for me.
If you love traditional protein shakes, then brilliant — there are loads of flavours and options available. But if you’re like me and the thought of drinking something that tastes like a milky milkshake puts you off, clear whey is completely different.
You simply mix a scoop with cold water — MyProtein recommends around 300–400ml — shake it up and let the natural foam settle for a few seconds.
I personally like mine really cold, and it makes such a refreshing drink.
It’s light, fruity and easy to drink rather than thick and creamy, which makes it much more appealing to me than a traditional protein shake.
An Easy Way to Get My Protein In
Getting enough protein has been something I’ve been trying to be more conscious of, so having something this easy has been really useful.
Rather than having to find another meal or snack to add more protein, I can simply make myself a glass of MyProtein Clear Whey + Collagen – Vimto®
And because I actually enjoy the taste, I’m much more likely to have it consistently.
That’s probably the biggest compliment I can give it — it doesn’t feel like I’m having a protein supplement because I have to. It feels like I’m having a drink I genuinely fancy.
My September Drink Favourite
This has definitely become one of my favourite drinks this month.
I love the Vimto flavour, I love that it’s refreshing rather than milky, and I really like the fact that I’m getting 20g of protein and 10g of collagen in each serving.
If you’re looking for a protein drink but, like me, don’t enjoy anything that tastes like a milkshake, I’d definitely recommend giving Clear Whey a try.
And if you already love Vimto, even better!
⭐ My verdict: 5/5 – Delicious, refreshing and genuinely enjoyable to drink. It tastes like Vimto squash, gives me a convenient 20g of protein plus 10g of collagen, and is a much better fit for me than traditional milky protein shakes.

My Best Bargain
Pink Beauty Organisers from Temu
Sometimes you find something that’s such good value and works so well that, when you need to replace it, you don’t even consider buying something different. These beauty organisers are exactly that for me.
I originally bought the white versions of these organisers and had one dedicated to my perfumes and another for my skincare products. They’ve been fantastic, but after plenty of use, mine were starting to look a little old and tatty, so I decided it was time for some new ones.
Then I spotted them in pink.
Well, obviously I had to have those!
If you’ve seen my bedroom, you’ll know that pink is very much the theme, so these fit in perfectly with my bedroom aesthetic. I love that they’re not just practical storage — they actually look really pretty sitting on my table too.

Keeping My Beauty Products Organised
I use one of these for my perfumes and another for my skincare products, and they’re brilliant for keeping everything together.
Instead of having bottles and beauty products spread all over my table, everything has its own place. I can easily see what I have and grab what I need without having to rummage through drawers or cupboards.
The organisers have a transparent lid, which is particularly useful because I can still see my products while they’re stored away. They also have two drawers, giving you additional space for smaller beauty essentials such as makeup, skincare or other bits and pieces.
And one of my favourite features is that the covered design helps to keep the dust out.

Anyone with a dressing table covered in beauty products will know how quickly dust seems to settle on everything! Keeping my products enclosed means they’re much better protected between uses, and it also makes my table look considerably tidier.
Why I Bought Them Again
The fact that I’ve bought these twice probably tells you everything you need to know, and why I’ve included them in my September favourites!
My original white organisers did a brilliant job, but after a while, they were starting to look a little worse for wear. Rather than looking for a completely different storage solution, I went back to something I already knew worked.
The only difficult decision was choosing which colour.
And when I saw the pink ones, that decision was very easy!
They look so much better with my bedroom, and I love having my beauty products stored in something that actually matches the rest of my décor.

And They’re a Bargain!
This is the bit that makes these my Best Bargain of the Month.
The pink organiser I bought is currently £10.40, with free shipping. The listing I found has a 4.7-star rating and has sold more than 6,000, although prices and availability can change.
There is also another Temu listing for the same style of organiser from a UK seller, which is a really useful alternative if you’d prefer to buy from a UK-based seller. This one is a little more expensive at £16.19, with £2 shipping, but the trade-off is that you’re buying from a UK seller rather than the listing with the much longer delivery estimate.
Plenty of Colour Options
And there are some lovely colour options too. You can choose from white, mint green, transparent green or pink — although, obviously, I went for the pink!
So, depending on what matters most to you, you’ve got a couple of options:
| Information | Original listing | UK seller |
|---|---|---|
| Price | £10.40 | £16.19 |
| Shipping | Free | £2 |
| Seller | Marketplace seller | UK seller |
| Colours | Pink, White | White, Mint Green, Transparent Green & Pink |
| My choice | Pink | Pink |
I think having the two options is really useful because £10.40 with free delivery is an absolute bargain, but if you’d rather pay a little more and buy from a UK seller, the £16.19 option is worth considering too.
Just make sure you check the delivery estimate shown on the individual listing before ordering, as Temu prices, sellers and delivery times can change.
⭐ My verdict: 5/5 – Practical, pretty, easy to organise and excellent value for money. I loved my original white ones enough to buy them again, and the pink versions are even better because they match my bedroom perfectly.
Price: From £10.40
Shipping: Free on the £10.40 listing / £2 from the UK seller
Colours: White & Pink /White, mint green, transparent green & pink available with the UK seller
Available from: Temu
Prices, availability and delivery times can change, so it's worth checking the listing before ordering.
My Favourite Subscription Box Discovery

SnackVerse
Okay, so technically SnackVerse isn’t something I discovered this month — I’ve actually been enjoying it for the past couple of months. But when something continues to be exciting every time it arrives, I think it deserves a place in my September favourites!
If you haven’t come across SnackVerse before, it’s a subscription box that takes you on a snack-filled journey around the world, with each month’s box featuring snacks from a different country. And honestly, I think that’s one of the things I love most about it.
You never quite know what you’re going to get until the box arrives, so there’s a lovely element of surprise to it. Rather than receiving the same types of snacks every month, you get the chance to try sweets, chocolate, crisps, biscuits, drinks and other treats from different countries.
A Different Country Every Month
The idea of travelling the world through snacks is what really appeals to me.
Each month focuses on a different country, and I love opening the box and finding out where we’re heading next. It’s not just about getting a box full of snacks — it feels like a little experience.
There’s also an information guide included, which I really enjoy because you get to learn a little more about the country and the products you’re trying. The guide includes information about the snacks, including nutritional, allergen and vegetarian information, which is particularly useful when you’re trying products you’ve never come across before.
And because the country is kept as a surprise until the box arrives, there’s always that little bit of anticipation beforehand. I definitely find myself wondering, “Where are we going this month?”

There’s Plenty to Try
There are currently three different box sizes available, depending on how much snacking you want to do.
The Mini Box contains 5+ full-size snacks, while the Original Box contains 10+ full-size snacks and includes a drink. If you really want to go all out, the Premium Box contains 20+ full-size snacks and includes one or more drinks.
I’ve really enjoyed having a good selection to work my way through because it means there’s usually something for everyone — and it’s fun discovering which snacks turn out to be your favourites.
Of course, with any mystery box, you’re not necessarily going to love every single thing you receive. That’s actually part of the fun for me. Trying something completely unfamiliar and deciding whether you love it, hate it or are somewhere in between is half the experience!
It’s Great for Sharing Too
Another thing I like about SnackVerse is that it can be something you enjoy on your own or share with other people.
You can sit down and work your way through the box yourself, or get friends or family involved and have your own little international taste test.
I think it would also make a really fun gift for anyone who loves trying new foods, especially because there’s a new country to discover each month.

How Much Does SnackVerse Cost?
If you’re tempted to try it, the current subscription prices listed by SnackVerse are:
- Mini Box: £7.99 per month – 5+ full-size snacks
- Original Box: £13.99 per month – 10+ full-size snacks plus a drink
- Premium Box: £23.99 per month – 20+ full-size snacks plus one or more drinks
UK shipping is currently free, and subscriptions can be cancelled from your account.
There are also different subscription payment options available, including monthly, quarterly, six-month and yearly plans.
Why It’s Made My September Favourites
I think the biggest reason SnackVerse has stayed a favourite over the past couple of months is that it doesn’t get boring.
Every box gives you something new to look forward to, and I love that I can discover snacks that I probably wouldn’t come across in my usual supermarket shop.
There’s also something really enjoyable about having a parcel arrive that you know is going to contain a whole selection of treats, but you don’t know exactly what you’re going to find inside.
It’s that combination of surprise, food and discovering somewhere new that keeps me looking forward to the next box.
So, while SnackVerse might not technically be a September discovery for me, it’s definitely still one of the things that has made my month better — and after two months of enjoying it, I’m already looking forward to seeing where the next box takes me!
⭐ My verdict: 5/5 – A fun way to discover snacks from around the world, with a different country to explore every month. If you love trying new foods and enjoy a surprise, I think SnackVerse is a really fun subscription to try.
Something I’ve Been Watching
Spooky in Love & The Early Spring!
This month I’ve actually had two very different dramas keeping me entertained — one Korean and one Chinese — and although they’re worlds apart, I’ve really enjoyed both.
The good news for fellow UK drama fans is that both Spooky in Love and The Early Spring are available to watch on Netflix in the UK, so you don’t need to go searching all over the place to find them.
Spooky in Love
First up is the Korean drama Spooky in Love, which has been right up my street because I’m always a fan of a good fantasy K-drama.
The story follows a ghost-seeing heir and an ace prosecutor who discover that a single touch makes them an unusually effective team as they work together to solve unsolved murders.
It has that lovely combination of romance, fantasy, comedy and supernatural elements that makes Korean dramas so much fun to watch. I really enjoyed the overall atmosphere of this one, and it managed to keep me entertained without taking itself too seriously.
I’m always drawn to Korean dramas that add a little bit of fantasy to the story, and Spooky in Love definitely delivered that for me. There are some lovely romantic moments, plenty of supernatural elements and enough going on to keep me wanting to watch the next episode.
I’m deliberately keeping this spoiler-free, because I think this is one that’s much more enjoyable when you don’t know too much about what is coming!
If you’re in the UK, you can currently watch Spooky in Love on Netflix.
My verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Perfect for: K-drama fans who enjoy romance with a supernatural or fantasy twist.
The Early Spring
Then there’s The Early Spring, which couldn’t really be more different!
This time we’re heading over to China for an office-based Chinese drama, with the story following a new employee and her talented boss as they navigate their working lives and a complicated romance. Netflix describes it as a workplace romance set against the pressures of a fast-paced corporate environment.
I have to admit, there were definitely moments when I found myself getting a little frustrated with the male and female leads. There are quite a few misunderstandings and occasions where I was practically shouting at the screen, thinking, “Why don’t you two just TALK to each other?!”
But despite those moments of frustration, I still found myself wanting to keep watching. That’s probably the best indication that a drama has got you hooked — even when the characters are making decisions that make you want to have a word with them!
I also enjoyed the fact that it was so different from Spooky in Love. After watching a fantasy K-drama, switching to a more modern Chinese office romance gave me something completely different to get stuck into.
The drama has 24 episodes in total; the finale aired on the 9th September 2026.
If you’re in the UK, you can currently watch The Early Spring on Netflix.
My verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Perfect for: Fans of Chinese dramas, workplace romances and stories where you’re likely to find yourself emotionally invested in the characters.
Two Very Different Dramas, Both Worth Watching
What I’ve enjoyed most this month is that these two dramas have given me completely different viewing experiences. It’s one of the reasons that they both appear in my September favourites!
Spooky in Love gave me the fantasy, supernatural elements and romance I love in Korean dramas, while The Early Spring has been more of a modern Chinese workplace romance with plenty of relationship drama.
And yes, The Early Spring occasionally had me frustrated by all the misunderstandings, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it!
So if you’re looking for something new to add to your watchlist, I’d definitely recommend giving either of these a try — depending on whether you’re in the mood for supernatural K-drama romance or Chinese workplace drama.
And don’t worry, I’ve kept this section completely spoiler-free because I wouldn’t want to ruin either drama for you!
September watching verdict: Two very different dramas, but both have kept me coming back for another episode.

My Best Unexpected Find
MyProtein Flavour Drops!
Sometimes you buy something without really knowing whether you’re going to get much use out of it, and then it turns out to be far more useful than you expected.
That’s exactly what happened with the MyProtein Flavour Drops.
Take a look at the MyProtein Flavour Drops
I actually picked up a 5-pack through TikTok, which included five different flavours: Vanilla, Strawberry, Blueberry, Cheesecake and White Chocolate. I haven’t been able to find that exact five-flavour pack on the MyProtein website, so it may have been a TikTok-exclusive bundle or a promotional pack.
I’d seen Flavour Drops before, but I hadn’t really appreciated just how useful they could be until I started experimenting with them.
They Completely Changed My Greek Yoghurt
Here’s my confession: I’m not a fan of the taste of Greek yoghurt.
I know it’s incredibly popular, but I’ve always found the flavour a bit too tangy for my liking. However, I’ve been trying to find ways to include more protein in my diet, so I didn’t really want to give up on it completely.
Then I tried adding some Strawberry Flavour Drops.
Game changer!

A few drops completely transformed the taste for me. Suddenly, instead of having a bowl of Greek yoghurt that I was eating because I knew it was good for me, I had something that actually tasted really nice.
I’ve also tried the Vanilla flavour in Greek yoghurt and loved that too. It’s such a simple idea, but it made me realise that I don’t necessarily have to eat foods exactly as they come — sometimes a little bit of flavouring can make all the difference.
And that’s what I love about these drops. MyProtein recommends adding around 7–10 drops, adjusting the amount to taste, so you can make something as subtle or as strongly flavoured as you like.
My Favourite Discovery: Strawberry Philadelphia
But then I discovered another use for them.
I added some of the Strawberry Flavour Drops to Philadelphia Soft Cheese, gave it a good mix and then had it with mini breadsticks.
And honestly?
It was like eating a dessert!
The strawberry flavour completely changed the soft cheese, turning it into something that felt much more like a sweet treat than a savoury spread.
Obviously, Philadelphia and mini breadsticks aren’t exactly a traditional dessert, but it really satisfied that craving for something sweet without me reaching for a much more sugary option.
I also really like that the Flavour Drops themselves add virtually no calories or sugar. MyProtein currently lists 1 calorie per serving and 0g of sugar, although nutritional information can vary slightly between flavours. The drops use sweetener and natural flavouring, and they’re suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
So Many Ways to Use Them
The more I use these, the more uses I seem to find for them.
MyProtein actually suggests using Flavour Drops to flavour things like porridge, protein shakes, coffee and other foods and drinks, and I can definitely see why. They’re concentrated, so you only need a small amount to change the flavour.
You can also use different flavours depending on what you’re eating.
I’ve particularly enjoyed:
- Strawberry in Greek yoghurt
- Vanilla in Greek yoghurt
- Strawberry in Philadelphia Soft Cheese
- Adding flavour to breakfast foods
- Using them to add a little extra flavour to drinks
And I still have Blueberry, Cheesecake and White Chocolate to experiment with, so I’m sure I’ll find plenty more combinations.

A Tiny Bottle That Makes a Big Difference
One thing I really like is how little you need.
The current MyProtein range comes in different flavours, with the standard bottles containing 100ml and around 200 servings, depending on the product.
That means one little bottle lasts a surprisingly long time.
They’re also really easy to keep in the cupboard, and because they’re concentrated drops rather than a powder, there’s no faffing around trying to measure out a large serving.
It’s such a simple product, but I’ve found myself reaching for them far more often than I expected.
Why They Made My Unexpected Finds List
I think the reason these made it into my Best Unexpected Finds section is that I genuinely didn’t expect to love them as much as I do.
I bought the five-pack because I thought it would be fun to try different flavours, but they’ve actually become a really useful addition to my kitchen.
Most importantly, they’ve helped me turn foods I don’t particularly enjoy — like plain Greek yoghurt — into something I actually look forward to eating.
And the strawberry Philadelphia experiment? That was a very happy discovery!
If you’re trying to make everyday foods a little more interesting, or you’re looking for ways to add flavour without adding lots of extra sugar and calories, I’d definitely recommend giving Flavour Drops a try.
There are currently around 20 flavours in the MyProtein range, from fruity options to more indulgent flavours such as White Chocolate and Toffee, so there’s plenty to experiment with.
⭐ My verdict: 5/5 – Such a simple idea, but incredibly versatile. The Strawberry and Vanilla flavours have completely changed my opinion of Greek yoghurt, and the strawberry Philadelphia with mini breadsticks is my current favourite little sweet treat. There was no way that I could not include these in my September favourites.

My Favourite Autumnal Book
The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore
There are some books that you can read at any time of year, and then there are books that just belong to a particular season.
For me, The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore is definitely an autumn book, and it just had to be my pick for favourite Autumnal book in my September faves.
I’ve absolutely loved settling down with this one, and it has been one of my favourite reads this month. It’s the perfect sort of book for when you want to get all comfy and cosy, grab a drink, wrap yourself up in a blanket and escape into a story for a while.
The whole thing just feels very autumnal and cosy, which is exactly what I’ve been looking for as we head into Autumn.
The Perfect Cosy Read
Without giving anything away, The Pumpkin Spice Café is a small-town romance with plenty of autumn atmosphere, and I really enjoyed getting caught up in the story.

I think part of the appeal for me is that it creates that lovely “I want to live there!” feeling. There’s something so comforting about reading a story set in a cosy little town, particularly when you’re reading it while the weather outside is starting to become a little cooler.
It’s also the sort of book I can imagine coming back to every autumn.
Sometimes you don’t necessarily want a book that’s complicated or heavy. You just want something enjoyable that you can curl up with and get lost in for a few hours, and that’s exactly what this was for me.
There’s Even a Colouring Book!
And if you love the world of The Pumpkin Spice Café as much as I do, there’s also an official Pumpkin Spice Café colouring book.

This isn’t just a generic colouring book with a similar title either — it’s an official tie-in to the novel, with 37 hand-drawn autumnal scenes and seasonal designs. The pages are designed for relaxing, cosy colouring, and they’re individually printed to help prevent bleed-through.
I absolutely love the idea of having the book and colouring book together.
There’s something so relaxing about finishing a few chapters, putting the book down and then doing a little colouring while still staying in that same cosy autumn world.
It’s basically the perfect excuse to spend an evening doing absolutely nothing productive — and I’m completely on board with that!
And There’s a Spotify Playlist Too!
One of my favourite little touches is that there’s also a Spotify playlist inspired by The Pumpkin Spice Café.
The playlist has 23 songs and includes artists such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Lana Del Rey and The Cranberries.
I absolutely love when authors or publishers put playlists together for books because music can make such a difference to the reading experience.
Put the playlist on, get yourself comfortable, grab your book and suddenly you’re not just reading about the story — you’re creating a whole little autumn reading experience.
You can listen to The Pumpkin Spice Café playlist on Spotify if you want to get the full cosy autumn atmosphere.
My Perfect September Evening
I think that’s what I’ve enjoyed most about this book.
It’s given me an excuse to slow down a little and actually enjoy a proper cosy evening.
- Get comfortable.
- Grab a drink.
- Put the playlist on.
- Pick up the book.
- Forget about everything else for a while.
There’s something really lovely about having a book that makes you want to create a whole atmosphere around reading it, rather than simply picking it up whenever you have five minutes.
And with autumn approaching, I can’t think of a better time to read The Pumpkin Spice Café.
⭐ My verdict: 5/5 – A lovely, cosy autumn read that I thoroughly enjoyed. If you love small-town romance, autumn vibes and books that make you want to curl up under a blanket with a hot drink, I’d definitely recommend adding this one to your reading list. It just had to be part of my September favourites.
And if you really want to embrace the Pumpkin Spice Café experience, get yourself the colouring book and Spotify playlist too. Trust me, it makes the whole thing even cosier!

The Favourite That Made the Biggest Difference
My Overall Favourite
Looking back at everything I’ve included in my September favourites, there is one thing that stands out as having made the biggest difference to my everyday life — my mini fridge.

It might not be the most glamorous item on the list, but sometimes the things that make the biggest difference aren’t the exciting purchases. They’re the practical things that make everyday life that little bit easier.
As I’ve mentioned earlier in this post, I’ve been bedridden for 15 years and cannot use the stairs at all, so having a mini fridge upstairs has been genuinely life-changing for me. It means I can keep cold bottled water, protein snacks and the things I need to keep appropriately chilled all on the same floor as me.
The fact that I can keep my insulin and Mounjaro upstairs, rather than having them in the kitchen fridge downstairs, is particularly useful. It means I don’t have to rely on someone else going downstairs whenever I need access to them.
And during the warmer weather, having a lovely cold bottle of water within easy reach has been absolutely amazing.
It’s funny because, before I had it, I wouldn’t necessarily have thought that a little 15-litre fridge would make such a difference. But once I had it, I wondered how I’d managed without one!
Why It Gets My Top Spot In My September Favourites
There have been some brilliant discoveries this month.
I’ve found a protein bar that actually feels like a treat, a skincare product that leaves my skin feeling hydrated and glowing, a protein drink that tastes like Vimto rather than a milkshake, some gorgeous pink beauty storage and even some flavour drops that have completely changed how I feel about Greek yoghurt.
I’ve also had some lovely entertainment, from discovering snacks from around the world with SnackVerse to getting cosy with The Pumpkin Spice Café.
But the mini fridge is the one thing that has had a genuine practical impact on my everyday life.
It isn’t just something I enjoy using — it has made things more accessible and convenient for me, and that’s why it has to be my overall favourite.
⭐ My verdict: 5/5 – It may not be the most exciting item I’ve bought this month, but it’s definitely the one that has made the biggest difference to my everyday life.

Final Thoughts
And there we have it — 10 September favourites that made my month better!
September has been a bit of a mixture, with everything from food and beauty finds to useful gadgets, international snacks, TV dramas and cosy autumn reading.
I’ve really enjoyed putting this list together because it has made me realise just how many little things can make a month better.
The YuBi Lemon Cheesecake Protein Bar has given me a sweet treat with a little extra protein, while the MyProtein Clear Whey + Collagen has given me another easy way to get protein into my day without having to drink a traditional milkshake-style protein shake.
My pink beauty organisers have made my dressing table look much tidier, and the Mixsoon Bean Essence has become a skincare favourite, particularly as part of my routine following my at-home IPL treatments.
Then there are the things that are simply about enjoyment. Discovering new snacks through SnackVerse, getting hooked on Spooky in Love and The Early Spring, experimenting with MyProtein Flavour Drops and getting all cosy with The Pumpkin Spice Café have all given me something to look forward to.
And, of course, there’s my little mini fridge — probably the least exciting thing to look at but the one that’s had the biggest impact!
I hope you’ve enjoyed finding out what I’ve been loving this September. Hopefully I’ve given you a few ideas for things you might like to try yourself — whether that’s a new snack, something for your beauty routine, a little home bargain or your next cosy read.
