My Experience Using the Hail Your Hair Dryer
I haven’t used a hair dryer in such a long time; I’m talking years not months! I have osteoarthritis so all my joints are painful and I don’t have the range of movement that I used to. Along with that I also have degenerative disc disease which also impacts my shoulders and arms. So it has just been too painful to hold a generic hair dryer, especially for the length of time my hair takes to dry. Instead of using a hair dryer, I have just been letting my hair air dry. Let me tell you, I could have damp hair before bed and it would STILL be damp the next morning.
I know air drying is beneficial to my hair but sometimes it’s a little inconvenient. Those are the times when I wished I could use a hair dryer. So, when I heard about the Hail Your Hair Dryer I just had to try it.
First Impressions
When it arrived and I took it out of its lovely black dust pouch I was shocked at how small and light it was. It was almost like holding nothing; no real weight to it at all. The dryer actually weighs only 540g, with the motor weighing only 70g of that. I actually had the biggest grin on my face because there was a very real possibility of being able to dry my hair with a hair dryer! Of course, that got me even more eager to try it. Sounds silly but unless you know the physical struggles of not being able to use one, I doubt you would understand what it meant to me. Of course, due to it being so lightweight, it is also the perfect dryer to take when you travel.
I was also happy to see that included in a separate dust pouch were two attachments, a nozzle and also a diffuser.
Diffuser Attachment
The diffuser attachment made me really happy for two reasons! Firstly, not all hair dryers come with a diffuser attachment. Secondly, when I lost my hair through medications back in 2017 my hair grew back wavy. It was dead straight before it all fell out. So, when I air dry it at the moment, well, it tends to look a little fluffy/frizzy until I do something with it – most times I don’t bother haha!
Lock Your Settings
The Hail Your Hair Dryer is designed to keep your chosen temperature and strength of power at the same level throughout styling. To lock your hair dryer, simply press & hold both the On/Off button and temperature button at the same time. Struggling to unlock your hairdryer? Simply press the On/Off and temperature button simultaneously and the lights on your device will flash, showing that you’ve unlocked your settings. It’s that easy!
Long Power Cord
Another thing that I loved about this hair dryer is that it has a 3-metre long cord, so I am not limited on where I can plug it in. It’s a soft, very flexible cord so it moves really easily as you move the hair dryer around.
Self Cleaning
Oh, and did I mention it is self-cleaning? Well, it is! It’s recommended to use the hair dryer several times before using the self-cleaning function for the first time.
Using the Hail Your Hair Dryer for the First Time
Naturally, I have to mention again how light this dryer is to hold. Turning it on I couldn’t get over how quiet it is compared to other hair dryers I have owned. There are several power & heat settings and also a button for cool air.
It’s so powerful too! I managed to dry my hair in a third of the time it would usually take me. Plus, my hair looked and felt a lot smoother than it usually would. I used the nozzle attachment on one side of my hair and then I used the diffuser on the other side. Both attachments dried my hair equally well but the diffuser helped give my hair volume and also some wave definition. I think I need to invest in some wavy/curly hair products now to help even more.
Even more impressive is that I wasn’t in pain whilst using the hair dryer! Obviously, I still don’t have as much range of movement but it didn’t seem to impede the drying of my hair at all. My wrists only started to ache a little by the end of drying my hair. Usually, they’d be so painful after a few minutes that I would have to give up.
So, for anyone whose wrists usually suffer from holding a hair dryer for so long, I’d definitely recommend Hail Your Hair Dryer. Besides that though I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new ionic lightweight hair dryer.
My Final Thoughts on the Hail Your Hair Dryer
I had high hopes for the Hail Your Hair Dryer and it did not disappoint. The lightweight design is truly easier to hold and move around, especially with the 3-meter-long soft cord. It has lots of options for power and heat and of course the cold air shot button too – great for helping set volume and hold your hair in place. Hair feels and looks so much healthier and smoother than air drying or when using a traditional dryer.
I honestly cannot fault the Hail Your Hair Dryer at all and whilst £149.99 is still a lot of money, this hair dryer is definitely worth the investment. Plus, it’s also considerably cheaper than other dryers in the same market.
