Little Bit Lavish launched last month with their Mermaids Wishes themed box, which was absolutely stunning. It was a really strong launch box and Becky is back this month with her second box, themed Sweet Dreams.
For this box Becky has curated 6 items to ensure you have the best nights sleep possible. It’s all about relaxing, calming the mind and body, so you are in the most restful state, before drifting off to sleep.
The box that it was packaged in was a lot sturdier this time, which meant there was no damage this month. I think this design is much better than the previous one.
I was also really pleased to see the lilac tissue paper & squiggles again, combined with the logo sticker they are just so pretty!
So, let’s delve right into the products that can be found in this months Little Bit Lavish Sweet Dreams box.
One of most relaxing things to do before sleep is to take a nice long soak in a hot bath. Little Bit Lavish has the perfect product to make sure your bath is a relaxing experience.
This Bloomtown Botanicals Rose Garden Pink Himalayan Salt Soak looks so pretty! You just drop a handful of these salts when running your bath. It’s enriched with Vitamin E and Almond Oil to leave your skin feeling soft and nourished.
Salt baths are beneficial to the body as the salt reduces swelling from your tired aching limbs by drawing out the excess moisture. These Rose Garden Pink Himalayan Salts have an absolutely gorgeous scent too. It’s not your average rose scent either. It’s modern and floral, slightly sweet, a little bit exotic even.
I discovered they have a roll-on perfume oil in this scent (as well as their other scents) and I immediately ordered it! RRP £3.50
Our edible pamper treat this time is in the form of Clipper Snore & Peace Infusion Tea. This is an organic blend of chamomile, lemon balm and lavender infusion. Put the kettle on and after your relaxing bath, settle back with a nice soothing cup of this tea. You could even drink your tea in the bath! RRP £2.25 for 20
Pillow sprays seem to be a thing at the moment. I think this is the third one I have come across in a beauty box. The others though were very small compared to this 100ml Tisserand Sweet Dreams Pillow Mist. It contains pure essential oils of Lavender, Sandalwood and Jasmine. To use just spray lightly over your pillow/bed linen or just spray in your room and allow the mist to settle and the calming effects of the Lavender and other essential oils will create a tranquil atmosphere to aid your slumber. I never used to like Lavender, in fact I used to hate it. I have to say though, since blogging and coming across it a lot more in one form or another, I’ve actually grown to like it now. I found this very a very nice scent and it does help aid relaxation. RRP £12.95
To compliment the Pillow Mist is this Kiss The Moon DREAM After Dark Balm. This balm also has Lavender essential oil, 100% blend of Shea Butter and white tea seed oil too. Just dab it onto your temples and wrists and it will help to quiet and soothe, both mind and body.
This balm is really nice on the skin and has a lovely Lavender scent; there’s also an undertone of what smells like tea to me. It’s nice though. You can get 15% off your order with the discount code Hello15 RRP£ 16.00 12ml
I don’t know about you but one of the last things I do before settling down ready for sleep is to do my skin care routine. I find it extremely relaxing to go through each of the steps. One of the steps I do, is to apply facial oils; I really adore them and I’ve found them really fantastic for my skin.
Ingredients: Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Linum Usitatissimum (Flax) Seed Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil, Triticum Vulgare (Wheatgerm) Oil, Adansonia Digitata (Baobab) Seed Oil, Camellia Sinensis (Camellia) Leaf Oil, Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Oil, Santalum Album (Sandalwood), Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Flower extract, Commiphora Myrrha (Myrrh) Oil, Helichrysum Angustifolium (Helichrysum) Oil, Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense) Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Oil, Benzyl Alcohol*, Eugenol*, Geraniol*, Farnesol*, Linalool*, Benzyl Benzoate*, Benzyl Cinnamate*, Limonene*, Citral* * Naturally occurring in essential oils.
The Siskyn Frankincense & Jasmine Night Facial Oil is perfect to add into your existing routine. This facial oil is blended with 18 beneficial plant and flower oils. Rosehip is just one of those oils. I usually use a 100% organic Rosehip oil every night because it’s vitamin rich and helps to increase collagen production making it great for anti-ageing. To help even out skin tone, this oil also has Calendula and to aid skin maintenance, it also contains Baobab.
Regenerative Frankincense, skin boosting Myrrh and hydrating Jasmine all help skin to repair and rejuvenate. Add the benefit of Lemon essential oil to lighten and brighten dark pigments including age spots.
It also has linoleic acid, which is a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid known for it’s anti-inflammatory and moisture retentive properties. Linoleic acid is also known to help balance acne prone skin. This oil has a slower absorption rate than oils used for day time, so it leaves the skin nourished and balanced the next morning. All of the oils beneficial properties sink into you skin whilst you are fast asleep and work their magic.
This is a lovely facial oil but I have to be honest and say that I have a very heightened sense of smell due to my Fibro, so the smell gave me a headache. I think it might be the Frankincense and Myrrh that are predominant and it was just too strong for my sensitive nose. That doesn’t take away all the beneficial properties of this oil though.
Whilst this oil is suitable for all skin types, it’s not suitable for daytime use due to the citrus oil it contains, and it’s also not suitable if you are pregnant. RRP £32.00
One thing I never EVER thought I would use is an eye mask to sleep in BUT I’ve been using one for quite a while now and I really like it. As someone who has extreme difficulty not just getting to sleep but staying asleep, an eye mask is great. If you wake, you aren’t woken even further by street lights shining in the bedroom etc.
This Jasmine Silk ‘Silk Sleep Eye Mask‘ adds a touch of luxury to your sleep. This soft handmade silk eye mask is filled with 100% pure mulberry silk floss and covered in charmeuse silk, which is super soft and smooth. Silk is really gentle on the skin, especially around the delicate eye area. It is also thought that the natural amino acids present in the silk are actually beneficial to the skin too. The mask has an adjustable elastic strap, so you can alter the length and it prevents all light from seeping in around the edges of the mask, giving you total darkness in which to drift off to sleep. It’s available in assorted colours and the Grey colour was the one included in this box. RRP £ 11.00
With a subscription cost of just £20.00 and a box RRP total of over £63, this Sweet Dreams box by Little Bit Lavish has me super impressed once again. The products have been thoughtfully curated to create a whole night of pampering before bedtime, to give you a really lovely night-time routine.
The theme was all about a good nights sleep and Becky had every area covered, right from bath time to snuggling down for sleep time. I loved all of the products and I’m gutted that the Siskyn Frankincense & Jasmine Night Facial Oil gave me a headache because I loved how it felt on my skin.
My favourite product this month was definitely the Bloomtown Botanicals Rose Garden Pink Himalayan Salt Soak. I have ordered off Bloomtown Botanicals before but I had never tried the bath salts. I ordered a clay mask and sugar scrub. I actually avoided ordering the Rose Garden scent though, thinking it would be too floral for me. Oh, how wrong was I?! This is one of the most gorgeous scents I have ever smelt. like ever. Like I said, when I found out they did a perfume oil in it, I ordered one straight away!
Seriously though, a BIG thumbs up to Becky of Little Bit Lavish for another successful box.
I am looking forward to next months box which is themed ‘Wakey Wakey’ and is all about waking you up for the day after a good nights sleep! Can’t wait to see what Becky has in store for that one.
