Last Christmas there were no parties to attend but this holiday season things should be a lot different. We’ll be able to dress up, get our glam on and actually go out. One thing I really enjoy having is a striking festive colour on my nails. My go-to choice of nail colour is red and of course, it is a perfect colour for Christmas and the New Year. I do like to mix it up a little and use 2 or 3 colours on my nails so that I can have an accent colour. My choice this year is this Lady Showbiz Nail Polish Duo ‘Love Duo‘.

Coverage & Wear
The coverage really impressed me as I only needed to apply one coat of the ‘Red Carpet‘ red. It gives such a beautiful high gloss finish. I applied ‘Good Luck Charm‘ glitter red over all my nails except my ring finger. My nails looked great, even if I do say so myself! 😀 To be honest the photos above don’t do them nearly enough justice. The glitter looks much better in person, it was just tough to capture it in a photo. They are long-wearing too and it was over a week before the polish chipped. I often have trouble with nail polish adhering to my nails at all. By that I mean, I can actually just peel the polish off my nails with little effort. I think it has something to do with the moisture/oil in your nails if I remember correctly. However, to date, this is the only brand of polish that stays on my nails properly!
Make Sure to Prep Your Nails Properly
If you find that your nail polish peels and chips really easily then you should make sure that you are prepping your nails properly before applying your polish.
- Clean your nails thoroughly – use a nail polish remover
- Use a Nail Dehyrdator & Primer– this will remove oil and moisture from your nail, you can also use rubbing alcohol instead of nail dehrydator
- Apply a base coat – you can also lightly buff your nails, making them rougher so that the polish has something to grip to.
- Apply thin layers – be sure to let them dry properly between each application
- Don’t put your hands in hot water – the nail bed expands and the nail polish will shift with it. Try and leave at least 2-3 hours if you can.
There are several shades to choose from as well as some other duos. So, there’s something for everyone no matter your favourite colours. These Lady Showbiz duos would make a perfect stocking filler.
