AD || I am sure at one time or another the majority of us have wondered what we would do if we ever won the lottery. The chances of me ever winning a life-changing amount is slim but a girl can dream, eh! I have a list of some things that I would definitely do, should I ever be that lucky.
If I won the lottery I would…
1. Pay off All My debts
Nothing worse than having a debt over your head and struggling to meet all the bills with little left to do anything else. So, the first thing I would do is pay off every single debt I have. There are no massive amounts outstanding but it’s usually all the small sums that mount up each month. It’s a bit of a boring choice, I know, but it’s practical and would make life easier in the long run. I would also pay off all my Mum’s debts too. She has done so much for myself and my family that I can never repay her but it means I could help her out at least.
2. Install Air conditioning
The last two summers have nearly killed me with how hot my room gets. Well, okay, slight exaggeration but the heat and humidity have made me physically ill. My room gets up to 32/33 C when it’s really hot and I just cannot cope with it. Trying to sleep during the night is practically impossible because it doesn’t cool down and then with the humidity, it’s like trying to sleep in a sauna. Often I feel like going to sit under a cold shower for the night! So ideally, I would install air conditioning all over the house. It’s been warm today and I refuse to do another summer with that horrible heat, so I’ve ordered a portable air conditioning unit. That will have to do for now!
3. Get Lasik Surgery
I’ve worn glasses since I was about 11 and contact lenses on and off over the years. It’s annoying and I would absolutely love to get Lasik Surgery if it were possible. Not having to wear glasses or mess about with contact lenses and solutions would just be so much less hassle. So yes, Lasik Surgery would definitely be high on my to-do list.
4. Buy A whole New Wardrobe
As someone that doesn’t clothes shop very much, I’d love to get new clothes; basically a whole new wardrobe. I never buy expensive items. I tend to shop smart and buy pieces that will last and can be worn with a lot of other items to create multiple looks. There’s a great article, ‘How To Dress Like A Millionaire‘ over on Lottoland.co.uk that has some really excellent tips on how to shop smart when buying new clothes. If you’re wondering what Lottoland is, it’s a website where you can bet on the outcome of the worlds biggest and best Lotto draws. Including EuroJackpot (EU) and the SuperEnalotto (Italy), You’ll also find the Irish Lotto, Polish Lotto, and many many more from Europe, Australia and the US!
5. Buy A new Car
A new car would be a priority too. I don’t drive myself but having a car would make getting around so much easier. We currently rely on friends for hospital appointments, so it would be fantastic to have our own car and not have to depend on others.
6. Book A Holiday
The last time I had a holiday was 33 years ago. Yes, you read that right! There are so many places I would love to visit but with mobility being such an issue for me, it makes going anywhere very challenging. I would love to visit Seoul and shop for skincare from all the amazing stores there. I do love my Kbeauty!
7. Treat My Kids
I haven’t always been able to treat my kids as much as I would have liked, so this is something I really want to do. My kids are really important to me and getting to treat them would mean the world to me. Could be something like a new PC or laptop, gaming console, clothes, money, just whatever they want really. I just want to splurge on them a little, if I ever won the lottery.
8. Savings for a rainy day
It’s only sensible coming into a large sum of money to put some away for a rainy day. As things stand right now, it’s really hard to have spare money to save. I’d want to make sure that I put enough away so I don’t have to worry in the future too much.
9. Build An Extension
This is something I would love to do. There is room at the side of our house to build an extension. Ideally creating a bedroom downstairs and possibly space for an office or extra bedroom upstairs too. I think I would also consider a conservatory of some kind as well.
10. Buy A Hot Tub
Okay, this one is a real bit of extravagance as far as I’m concerned. Buying a hot tub, top of the range. It’s a must! Due to chronic illnesses, I ache and have pain all the time and I think a hot tub would do my body wonders. I can imagine that it is incredibly relaxing. We’d get a lot of use out of a hot tub for sure.
And what if you ever won the lottery? what would you spend your money on?
Grab a pen and enjoy thinking about all the things that YOU would love to do if you ever won the lottery! It’s actually a lot of fun and harder than you think to come up with real, viable things.
