I don’t want to bombard you with loads of technical specifications and information because, to be honest, it can just be too overwhelming. I am sure that what you really want to know most are:
- What does it actually do?
- Is it easy to use?

Spoiler – yes it does work! It’s as close to a facelift as you can get at home without actually having one. Plus, it is incredibly easy to use.
Comper Smarkin: Everything You Need to Know
I was lucky enough to be sent a Comper Smarkin for review purposes, along with 2 bottles of Comper medical-quality Hyaluronic Acid Essence. They also sent me a world adapter, which is pretty neat.
The Packaging
As you can see from the photo above, the device has very aesthetic packaging. Inside is everything you need to start using your Comper Smarkin. Included in the box are the following:
- Comper Smarkin device
- Power adapter
- User manual
Please make sure to read the user manual to familiarise yourself with the device. There’s not too much to read through as the Comper Health App will do most of the work for you but I will get to that later.
The Comper Smarkin is available in 6 different colours, so there is bound to be at least one colour that you will like:
- White
- Space Grey
- Bordeaux
- Fuschia
- Blue Azteque
- Rose Confetti
I didn’t specify any preference in colour, so they sent me the Bordeaux one and it’s a really lovely colour. When buying beauty tools or devices, I tend to choose a darker colour if one is available. White and light colours can sometimes discolour over time, well, in my own experience anyway.
The Design
I loved the design of the Comper Smarkin from the first moment I saw it. It’s a no-fuss, sleek design, with a large 54 mm head, which allows for shorter treatment times.

As I have chronic illnesses that can cause my hands to become swollen and stiff, gripping things can sometimes be an issue. Or if an item is too heavy to hold. I found the Comper Smarkin very easy to hold thanks to the silicon rubber body. Plus, it’s incredibly light too. Even on a really bad day, I didn’t have any trouble holding and using the device.

I wasn’t 100% sure what to expect from the Comper Smarkin until I actually tried it out myself. Before it arrived I watched the videos available on the Comper YouTube channel which gave me some idea of what to expect. Still, there is nothing like using the device yourself.
The Controls
The controls on the device are incredibly easy to use. There are just 2 buttons:
- An ON/OFF | Function button
- Level Intensity + button
As I said, it’s incredibly easy to use. What makes it even easier is the Comper Health App that you can use with it.
Comper Health App
One of the best things about the Comper Smarkin is the Comper Health App that you can use with it. The user manual explains how to download the app using the QR code on page 15. I found it very easy to download and install. I had to do a quick firmware update but it was done really quickly. After that, you need to bind your device to the app. To do this:
- Enable Bluetooth on your phone.
- Make sure your Comper Smarkin is plugged in.
- In the Bluetooth settings in your phone, find the Smarkin & connect it.
- The Smarkin should buzz/vibrate for a sec, to confirm it is connected.
And just like that, your Smarkin is now bound to your Comper Health App! Easy peasy!
Creating Your Skin Profile & Care Plan In the Comper Health App
After you have successfully bound your Smarkin with the Comper Health App, you will be prompted to create a skincare profile by answering questions. Next, you can choose a skincare plan that is suggested by the app. If you don’t want to use the app, you can use the device without it. I find it extremely easy to just follow the 3D voice guide that it gives you when you use one of the suggested skincare plans on the app.
I actually decided to use the Smart Skincare Plan, and I have been using that for 28 days duration. It’s super relaxing to do as I have been doing the treatment sessions before bed. I’ve found that it also actually eases any stress or tension from the day as well. It’s particularly effective if I have a headache. Those aren’t really important points, just an added little bonus I’ve noticed.
Please Note:
The EMS microcurrent, LED therapy and MASS vibration settings can be used every day.
RF is recommended to use no more than four times a week, and no more than 15 minutes each time, as radiofrequency activates the body’s healing mechanism by heating the skin, causing new tissues and collagen synthesis to increase. At least two rest days per week are required.
The 4-in-1 Enhanced Technologies
If you love beauty tools and devices, chances are you have more than one as they all do different jobs. I know I have 3 or 4 that I use on a regular basis. The difference with Comper Smarkin is its 4-in-1 Enhanced Technologies that penetrate different layers of your skin.
- MASS – Micro Vibration Massage, works on the epidermis.
- RF – Bipolar Ring Radio Frequency, works on the epidermis and dermis.
- LED – 850nm Near-Infrared Light, 630nm Infrared, works on the epidermis, dermis and fascia.
- EMS – 3 levels of Micro Current, works on the epidermis, dermis, fascia and muscle.
MASS (Skin Massage)
Through micro-vibration massage at a certain frequency, Skin Massage (MASS) enhances skin absorption and becomes a perfect match with other skincare products.
RF – 3 levels
With large flat electrodes rings, Radio Frequency (RF) can heat the dermis layer evenly over a larger area. It stimulates collagen regeneration, reduces wrinkles and provides immediate lifting and tightening.
LED both Red & Near Infrared
With 8 red LED at 630nm and 8 near-infrared LED at 850nm working simultaneously, LED light therapy repairs cells and capillaries, balances facial water and oil levels, helps to eliminate acne, reduces pigment issues and heals UV damage.
EMS with 3 Levels
3 levels of micro current(EMS) promotes a deep movement of muscles and enhance blood circulation. It tightens the skin for facial lifting and helps improve skin’s contour, tones, fine lines and puffiness.
What Does Each Technology Treat?
You will see noticeable results after only 28 days of use and even less in some cases. I noticed a difference after just one use on my cheeks, jawline and neck. I think that was due to the EMS, as the effects of that are immediate.
- RF (Radiofrequency) – Fine lines, wrinkles, sagging
- EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) – Contour, lifting, firming, tone, fine lines, puffiness
- LED (Phototherapy) – Tones, smoothes
- MASS (massage) – Relieves facial fatigue, and swelling, plus boosts circulation, amplifies benefits of RF, EMS & LED treatment
The Comper HA Essence
As I previously mentioned, I was also sent 2 bottles of their HA Essence. The Comper HA Essence is fairly viscous, so it is much more gel-like and not in the least bit watery. It is medical grade too.
Comper provides medical-quality HA essence (a.k.a., Hyaluronic Acid gel), instead of ordinary skincare gel. This results in better electric conduction for the treatment that the device itself provides, while also moisturizing your skin during the session.
I did find that I was having to reapply the HA Essence quite often; you really do need that slippage to allow the device to move along your skin smoothly. However, my skin leans towards dryness this time of year and is always thirsty for moisture, especially on my cheeks. So, maybe that was why I had to keep reapplying the essence.
Treatment Areas
The reason why Smarkin has a large head, 54 mm to be precise, is because it allows you to treat large areas more efficiently. There are 4 treatment areas in which you can use the device:
- Forehead
- Cheeks
- Jawline
- Neck
Do not use it in the following areas:
- Lips
- Eyes
- Eyelids and surrounding tissue.
Using the Smarkin For a Treatment Session With the App
So, now I can tell you how to actually use the device to do a treatment. Plug your device into the mains and open the Comper Health App. Click on the Skincare section, then the start button at the bottom. If you wish to do a different session, tap the ‘switch’ button on the right of the ‘start’ button. This will take you to a page where you can switch your session.
Once you have chosen your session, you must then do the following:
- Clean & dry your face
- Apply HA Essence over the electrode surface
- You can add more HA Essence during the treatment if needed.
When you are ready, click the ‘ready to go’ button on the app. The device will turn on and you can increase the intensity level by pressing the ‘+’ button. MASS, RF, LED and EMS all have 3 levels of intensity.
The app will then talk you through the treatment with a 3D guide, giving clear instructions. It is pretty much foolproof. You can also pause the treatment at any time, for instance, if you need to reapply the HA Essence.
When the treatment session has finished the device will automatically turn off.
Using Smarkin Without The App
Of course, as I’ve previously mentioned, you can use the device without the app if you prefer. All you have to do is the following:
- Hold down the power button for 2 seconds – this will turn the device on
- To switch between the MASS, RF, LED and EMS, press the power button
- Use the + to select the intensity level between 1, 2, 3
- To turn it off, hold the power button down for 2 seconds
Make sure to apply the HA Essence and then use slow circular motions on your forehead, and cheeks. Also use it on your jawline, from under the chin to behind the ear. Focus on the areas you want to but remember to avoid, eyes, eyelids and lips!
Customise Your Own Treatment Session
Using the Comper Health App, you also have the ability to create your own custom treatment session. It’s very easy to do, just follow the on-screen instructions provided in the app. I have made a custom treatment session that can be used every day so that in between the 2 days I can’t use the RF function, I can still use the device with the MASS, LED & EMS functions.
People Who Should Not Use the Comper Smarkin Device
If any of these apply to you, you should not use this device:
- Have recently had facial surgery or other surgical procedures
- If you have ever had implanted electronic devices, such as defibrillators, nerve stimulators, pacemakers or ECG monitors
- Are using invasive medical equipment, such as an insulin pump – please consult your doctor before use
- Have a history of cancer
- Are pregnant
- If you have plastic braces
- Have open ulcers or wounds
- If you have rosacea
- Have skin problems or sensitive skin
- If you have a history of epilepsy
My Thoughts On the Comper Smarkin 4-in-1 Beauty Device
I must admit I had high hopes for this device having seen some of the reviews for it and I was not disappointed. I’ve had a very puffy bloated face, chin and neck area for a while now because of the steroids I have to take. I am incredibly self-conscious about it. In just one 15-minute session I noticed a difference. The overall bloating was reduced and the areas were far less puffy.
I actually kept staring at it in the mirror because I wasn’t sure if I was imagining it. It is continuing to go down. I’m not sure if the bloating is from the steroids because they have previously given me a very bloated moon face. However, it could also be from menopause due to water retention. I am not 100% sure what causes it but I am over the moon that Smarkin is helping to get rid of it.
As far as wrinkles go, I don’t really have all that many, nothing very deep or noticeable on my forehead. I do have some fine lines and wrinkles right under my eyes but I don’t have crow’s feet – maybe I don’t smile enough to get them! haha. My skin is definitely feeling tighter though. There’s been far less give in it and I don’t think it’s sagging now either. Not that there was loads of sagging but I can just feel that my skin is much tauter. There’s definitely some rejuvenation going on. I’m really looking forward to seeing the results after further continued use of the Smarkin.
The technology for this device is very impressive and I love that this one device does so much. Saving time and money by buying one device instead of 3 or 4 that each do one thing.
In Conclusion
This is by far the easiest and quickest beauty device I have ever used, more importantly, it is effective – it actually works. This is now forever part of my skincare routine because I can’t stress enough my love for the Comper Smarkin. It’s such a pleasure to use, that I really look forward to my nighttime routine.
How Much Is the Comper Smarkin?
If you invest in a beauty device/tool then I wholeheartedly recommend this one. The fact that you are getting a medical-grade safe, professional beauty treatment in the comfort of your own home, is reflected in the price. So, it isn’t cheap but I think it’s incredible value for money given what it does and that it is very effective.
Think of it this way, if you regularly visit a beauty salon for skincare/beauty treatments, chances are that this device will save you a lot of money in the long run. It’s a real investment for your skin; a ‘skinvestment’ that your skin will most assuredly thank you for!
