I’m looking out the window and can see nothing but blue sky and bright sunshine. Can someone please tell the weather it’s the middle of September! I love Autumn, it’s my favourite time of year. I know there are a lot of kids that have gone back to school etc so it was very apt that the August 2020 Degusta Box was all about going back to school and being on the go.
Now, if you are new here and have never heard of Degusta Box UK I’ll quickly explain what it is.
Degusta Box UK is a monthly subscription box that contains between 10-15 items each month, most of which are new to the market. You can read some of my reviews for previous boxes here. It costs £12.99 per month. You can also find a discount at the end of the post. So, that means you’ll pay just £9.99 for your first box!
What’s in the August 2020 Degusta Box?
Anyway, let’s dive straight in and see just what the August 2020 Degusta Box contained.
First up is this Swisse Me Boost Me Berry Smoothie (rrp £1.80) which is available exclusively on swisseme.com. These are perfect when you’re busy and rushing around. They’re really tasty and definitely better than grabbing a piece of chocolate! Vegan, Gluten-free and Dairy Free options are also available.
These PICK UP! biscuit bars (rrp £0.40 per single bar / £1.69 for a pack of 5) make a fab treat to pop into your kid’s lunchbox. Or as a snack when they come home. That’s if you don’t eat them all first as they are pretty tasty! 😉
This Drink Me Chai Special Chai Latte (rrp £2.30 tub)was a gift in the August 2020 Degusta Box. I left this for Andy to try as he likes chai lattes. He said it was really nice. You can drink either hot or cold. It’s Gluten-free, suitable for vegetarians and only has less than 1% caffeine too.
Master Cafe Iced Coffee Classico (rrp £1.50) is not your typical iced coffee. My son tried it and said it had a really intense flavour and was a really delicious iced coffee. You would have received one of three flavours in your box.
So, I absolutely love dried fruit, like a LOT. Therefore I was really happy to see these in the box. The Sunny Fruit Mix-Ups (rrp £2.00 bag of 6 packs)are plump, juicy and packed full of flavour. Just so nice to eat. So, I don’t know about kids loving them, I LOVE them!
Swizzels Great British Puds (rrp £1.00) chew bars are definitely a unique experience with the four different flavours. However, they’re not something that I would personally eat but I am sure kids would love these fun flavours. The bars are Vegan and have natural flavours.
Twinings Cold Infuse for water bottles(rrp £3.79) is something that I have seen online whilst doing the weekly food shop. I know I have said before that I don’t drink tea or coffee but I do drink fruit infused teas. So, I have wanted to try these for quite a while. It didn’t disappoint. Lovely fruity flavour and great if you want to make sure you get your water intake for the day but find water too boring.
I’m actually a big fan of porridge and always find it a great start to my day. The Great British Porridge Co (rrp £1.50)in the Blueberry & Banana flavour was really nice. Added bonus it is dairy-free, 100% natural plant-based, gluten-free and has no added sugar either.
I’m really picky when it comes to nuts and seeds. Sadly this Boundless Activated Snacking Cayenne & Rosemary (rrp £1.50) was just not for me. It didn’t go to waste though as one of my sons ate it and really liked it. He said it was pretty spicy but moreish.
Trek Salted Caramel Protein Flapjack (rrp £2.50) is a fab snack when you need to eat something on the go. I love this salted caramel flavour. They have 9g of plant-based protein. Plus, they are gluten-free and Vegan too.
You would have received one of several flavours of this RXBAR (rrp £2.50). I received the Peanut Butter Chocolate bar. I can’t stand peanut butter but my one son absolutely loves the stuff so he claimed this anyway. He’s a gym bunny so he’s also buying protein bars and the like. He loved this bar and said it was tasty.
We’ve not yet used this Capsicana Mexican Chilli and HOney COoking Paste (rrp £1.50) but the family often make chicken fajitas so I am sure it will get used very soon.
Lastly, we have these Simpleas Pea Powered Curls (rrp £1.09). These moreish, crunchy curls are made from 100% sustainably sourced and harvested Great British yellow peas. Not only that, they are also vegan-friendly, gluten-free, high in fibre, protein and only 88 calories! A great alternative to regular crisps for sure.
My Overall Thoughts on the August 2020 Degusta Box
There was a nice selection of items in the August 2020 Degusta Box. Plenty of things that kids would love as a treat in their lunchboxes or after school snacks. The protein bars and smoothies make such a great on the go snack too.
