Welcome to my, albeit small, series of posts featuring the best self-tan products for Summer. I’ve been sent a few self-tanning products by various brands and I wanted to share my favourites with you. First up is Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam in Dark.
Now I am very fair skinned as I don’t leave the house due to my health. So when I was sent the Dark, I have to admit I had some trepidation before using it. I’ll be honest, I kept putting it off. I know, silly really as it is not like I would be going anywhere or seeing anyone if it didn’t turn out well. Sometimes though, you just have to take the bull by the horns, so to speak. So I just went for it.
Along with the self-tanning foam, I was also sent the Bondi Sands Reusable Self-tanning Application Mitt. Using your hands is never a good idea when it comes to applying any kind of self-tan product. An application mitt like this one should ensure that you get an even tan and no streaks or patchy areas. Plus, you shouldn’t end up with your hands being stained either.
what to do Before Applying Self-Tan
Before you use self-tan make sure you to exfoliate your skin. This is really important as the self-tan will cling to any dry areas of skin if you don’t take the time to exfoliate. Your skin should be clean, exfoliated and dry – plus free of any moisturisers!
Apply a decent amount of the self-tan foam to the application mitt and use long sweeping motions to your legs, arms and body. You can use the remaining residue on the mitt to do your face, knees and elbows.
Washing The Self-Tan off
You can wash the self-tan off after an hour. If you want a longer lasting darker tan, you can leave it on your skin up to 6 hrs before washing it off. Want the deepest tan? Just re-apply 30 minutes after you initially applied it.
Make sure to shower in warm water, don’t rub your skin dry – just pat it dry!
Bondi Sands Self-Tanning Foam Dark – Results
The result of the Self-Tanning Foam in Dark is a really lovely, natural looking tan. I would like to try the light/medium one just to see which I prefer. I’ve never been really tanned so it takes some getting used to. I was very impressed with this self-tan. It didn’t streak, it wasn’t patchy and it also had a really lovely coconut scent. Do you know that smell your skin gets when you’ve been out in the sun? Somehow it also managed to smell like that, which I actually really liked.
For me personally, I didn’t experience any negatives with the Bondi Sands Self-Tanning Foam. I’m by no means an expert at applying self-tan, trust me, I think I have used self-tan products maybe 3 or 4 times in my entire 48 years!
If you want a lovely, deep tan then you should definitely try this self-tanning foam from Bondi Sands. I don’t think you will be disappointed!
