Well, that’s it, I have the last box for you today; Degusta Box for December 2023 and just like that 2023 is all over and done with. Plus, how are we already at the end of the first week of 2024?
I’m quite glad to see the back of last year though, it was such a horrible year for my health, and I couldn’t seem to gain any traction on feeling remotely well. I flipping hope this year is going to be much better! So I wish you all the happiness and good health for 2024!
What is Degusta Box All About?
So, if you are new here and have never heard of Degusta Box UK I’ll quickly explain what it is and how it works.
Degusta Box UK is a monthly subscription box that contains between 10-15 items each month, most of which are new to the market. The products are chosen and put together by a team of specialists who look for foods that are versatile, innovative, and delicious. You can read some of my reviews for previous boxes here. It costs £14.99 per month. You can also find a discount at the end of the post. So, that means you’ll pay just £9.99 for your first box!
Degusta Box December 2023 Theme
No theme for the December Degusta Box and it features 10 brands and 11 items.
Contents of the December Degusta Box 2023
Sweet Items
Alpen Delight Bar (£0.59 ea)
First up are these Alpen Delight Bars; you should have received both of these in your box. These are made with rolled oats, wholegrain wheat flakes and crispy rice, then blended with tasty additions and covered in a smooth chocolate coating. They are 92 calories per bar.
I tried the raspberry Rocky Road bar and honestly, after trying it, I’ve got to say that I prefer their original cereal bars. I didn’t find that these had much flavour and I also found them quite dry.
Available at major supermarket chains
Tony’s Chocolonely Littl’ Bits Milk Caramel Sea Salt Biscuit(£3.00)
These were nice, I’ve not tried much from Tony Chocolonely but these tasted great. I mean, you can’t go wrong with chocolate, biscuits and caramel, can you?
Available at major supermarket chains
Savoury Items
Product of the Month
Heinz French Onion Soup and Broccoli and Stilton Soup (£1.70)
These Heinz soups are the Product of the Month for the December box. They must’ve run out of Broccoli and Stilton as I received another Spicy Parsnip Soup, which I also received in the November box.
I used to love French Onion Soup but over 10 years ago, probably longer in reality, my body developed an intolerance to many foods, one of them being onions, of any variety. Otherwise, I would have tried this for sure. My love of Heinz soups – I don’t eat any other soups, well, unless it’s one of our homemade ones – gives me complete faith that both of these new flavours are lovely!
Available in Tesco, Sainsbury's, Ocado, Morrisons, ASDA
Maggi Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles (£2.00 ea)
Chicken Instant Noodles are something that we buy every single week. We’re a household of 6 and every one of us eats them. We eat them on their own or add them to sauces or soups. This is a brand we buy a lot.
Available at ASDA, Iceland, B&M, Poundland and Lidl
Sauce, Condiments or Gravy Items
Dr. Will’s Sweet Mango Siracha (£3.50)
You would have received one of several items in your December Degusta Box. I got the Sweet Mango Siracha in mine. Not something I’d eat, too hot for me but one of my son’s eyes lit up when he saw it. They have no added sugar and nothing ultra-processed.
Available at Tesco, Waitrose, Co-op, Selfridges, Ocado, Whole Foods Market and more!
Knorr Beef Gravy Pot (£ 2.25)
I have probably said this many times before but we always have Knorr Stock Pots in our pantry and these too! So quick and easy to use, you really can’t go wrong with these, they’re idiot-proof!
Available at Tesco, Sainsbury's, ASDA and Ocado
Cereal Items
Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Chocolate Mocha Flavour Granola (£3.00)
I don’t eat granola or crunchy nut but I think the rest of my family do. Having said that one of my sons has already claimed this as he loves this kind of thing. He’s moving out to live in his own apartment in March, so he’s putting these up to take with him if he doesn’t cave and eat them before then! lol
Available at major supermarket chains
Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Drinks
Eisberg Alcohol-Free Wine Sparkling Rose (£3.50)
I’ve always enjoyed Eisberg, especially as I am no longer supposed to drink with most of the meds I take for my chronic illnesses and conditions. I prefer this Sparkling Rose over still wine but then again I always preferred sparkling wines, Asti Martini was (and is) my favourite but this makes a great alternative drink.
Available at Tesco, Morrisons, Co-op, Ocado and Amazon
Get More Vits Summer Fruits Multivitamin Squash (£2.50 each)
Over time we’ve had a few different Get More Vits items and they have all been great. This squash is no exception. It tastes great, especially chilled and knowing there is no added sugar and that it also has 20% fruit juice, plus each serving contains 50% of your daily dose of vitamins, including vitamin D1, is just fantastic.
Available in Tesco and ASDA
Final Thoughts On The Degusta Box December 2023
Some nice items in the final Degusta Box of last year (still not used to saying last year) so I am looking forward to seeing what the boxes for this year bring in terms of their content and themes.
My favourite items from the December Degusta Box are the Eisberg Sparkling Rose, the Get More Vits squash and the Tony’s Chocolonely Littl’ Bits.
