I have pretty sensitive skin, not only on my face but on my body too. Due to this, I prefer to use products that are more natural when showering, so my skin doesn’t get irritated. I recently got the chance to try out a brand new plant-inspired AA Skincare Shower & Bath Gel. It’s joining their Skincare Essential aromatherapy range this month.
AA Skincare is part of Amphora Aromatics Ltd, which is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of essential oils and aromatherapy products. They have a wide range of aromatherapy and natural skin care products and all at affordable prices too.
I have previously tried their Seaweed & Aloe Refreshing Eye Gel, which was featured in a subscription box and where I first came across AA Skincare. I was also lucky enough to try out and review two of their moisturising creams last year; Frankincense & Rose and Jasmin, Mimosa & Rosehip. All three products were really lovely.
This new range of AA Skincare Shower & Bath Gels launches this month and there are five different products in this new range. Each of them features different holistic Ayurvedic herb powders which will help to boost the health of your skin.
What is Ayurvedic?
I can already hear some of you asking, what is Ayurvedic? Well, it’s also known as Ayurveda and is in fact one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems. It originates from India and goes back thousands of years. It’s basically all about the delicate balance between mind, body and spirit. That you need to make sure all three of these are balanced for good health and wellness. It makes a lot of sense really.
I received the Cedarwood & Peppermint Deep Shower & Bath Gel to try but also available in the same range are the following:
- Rosemary, Sage & Burdock Shower & Bath Gel – a nourishing, antioxidant-rich body wash and bath foam with natural extracts. Rosemary and Sage essential oils work with calcium-rich Burdock to gently cleanse and nourish skin, giving it an antioxidant boost. Basil oil helps stimulate circulation and Rose Geranium helps protect the skin.
- Amla & Clary Sage Shower & Bath Gel– a balancing and moisturising body wash and bath foam, with vitamin C rich Amla (Indian Gooseberry) to help promote skin health. Clary Sage and Alma combine with balancing Lemon to cleanse and refresh skin. Grapeseed oil works to lock in moisture.
- Peony, Bay & Brahmi Shower & Bath Gel – a hydrating body wash and bath foam, featuring Peony extract, a soothing antioxidant-rich astringent. Peony works with antioxidant and vitamin-rich Brahmi and Bay to cleanse and hydrate skin. Holy Basil (Tulsi) helps calm skin and stimulate blood flow
- Ylang Ylang, Argan & Rosemary Shower & Bath Gel – a nutrient-rich body wash and bath foam featuring soothing and balancing Ylang Ylang. Antioxidant-rich Argan and Rosemary essential oils work with a natural cleanser, Moroccan Clay, to help keep skin soft and smooth.
How Much Do They Cost?
As you can see from their selection, there is something that would suit everyone, plus they are suitable to protect and cleanse ALL skin types too. Free from parabens and artificial fragrances, with a retail price of just £5.95 for 250ml, this new range of AA Skincare Shower & Bath Gels is extremely good value too.
My Experience Using AA Skincare Cedarwood & Peppermint Shower & Bath Gel
The Cedarwood & Peppermint Deep Shower & Bath Gel I received has the following properties:
Cedarwood & Peppermint Deep Shower & Bath Gel – invigorating, naturally antimicrobial body wash and bath foam. Cedarwood Atlas oil works with Peppermint oil to purify and reduce skin irritation. Murumuru Seed Butter and Brazil Nut oil help condition and protect skin.
It has a really lovely fresh peppermint scent and a very subtle underlying woodsy scent from Cedarwood. Peppermint is definitely the dominant scent though. It lathers up beautifully in the shower and really wakes you up. So, it is most definitely invigorating. It didn’t irritate my sensitive skin and I do suffer from stress-related psoriasis, so I was thrilled about this. It left my skin feeling beautifully soft and nourished. Not to mention, smelling really amazing from the peppermint.
There was no dried out or tight feeling to the skin like some soaps and shower gels leave after use. Just lovely soft, clean skin. It’s a really good shower gel to use in the morning when you want to wake up and get going for the day ahead.
All in all, it’s just a really great addition to the AA Skincare Essential aromatherapy range, following in the footsteps of their successful plant-inspired shampoo range.
