I’m late with the July 2019 Degusta Box UK, especially since I have had the photos done the same day the box arrived! Oops, life just gets in the way sometimes. I’ll have August’s box dropping on me very soon too! August? How did we get so far into the year already?!
So, anyway, if you don’t already know about Degusta Box UK and what it is, let me briefly explain to you.
Degusta Box UK is a monthly subscription box that contains between 10-15 items each month, most of which are new to the market. You can read some of my reviews for previous boxes here. It costs £12.99 per month but you can find a discount at the end of the post which means you’ll pay just £7.99 for your first box!
What’s In the Box?
So onto the contents of the box. This month Degusta Box has a ‘Picnic‘ theme. So it has items that you can use to make food to take on a picnic. I haven’t been on one in years. We used to take the kids when they were small to the local waterpark for a picnic. They absolutely loved it. If the weather was rubbish then it was a picnic on the living room floor! I think they loved that just as much. Sometimes they’d build a fort and have a little picnic under that!
Anyway, enough of me reminiscing, I’ll get right to it and show you what was in the July 2019 Degusta Box UK.
Beetroot is something that I have never liked but trying new things is something I love about having the Degusta Box. These have a fantastic crunch and a strong flavour. Sadly, it wasn’t for me though. If you love beetroot and veggie chips then I am sure you would really enjoy these. Suitable for Vegans too.
I left this sauce for the family to try as I have an intolerance to any type of peppers. I can’t tolerate ‘hot’ anything! It actually didn’t last very long as they all really loved it. Said it was full of flavour and not all heat. So yes, it gets a big thumbs up.
Coffee is something I don’t really drink. However, the coffee drinkers in the house loved this Butterscotch syrup. They said it added a really lovely creamy Butterscotch taste to the coffee. This is available for a limited time only.
Of course, how can I not love these Rowntree’s® Randoms® Squishems and Sours? I loved both of these. The sours weren’t that sour for me but I love sour sweets anyway, so that might be why I didn’t find them very sour. Andy pulled a face when he tried one though lol. Lots of flavour in both packs and really enjoyable. Great for sharing on a day out.
This was a surprise hit with the family. They tried it on some burgers and loved it. Packed with lots of flavours it really livened up the burgers. It was definitely something different than the usual relish or sauces we have.
I really enjoyed this new Ribena Frusion. The flavour of the Kiwi wasn’t overpowering. Combined with the blackcurrant it made for a really lovely refreshing drink. Lots of flavour yet was still subtle in taste. It has real fruits and crafted botanicals, plus it’s low in calories too. Rich with antioxidant Vitamin C, it also helps protect your cells from oxidative stress.
Seeing as how I don’t like coconut I didn’t try these myself. Andy liked them though and said they were very tasty, with a lovely crunch to them. He also said it was a really decent portion for a snack too.
If memory serves me right, I think we’ve had these or maybe pitta bread from this brand before. We haven’t actually used these yet, as we popped them into the freezer when the box was delivered. They were a really good size though, very soft too, so I am sure they will be lovely! We’re looking forward to trying them.
These were so yummy! I only managed to try one before they were gone! Which I think speaks for itself. Delicious chocolate goes so well with the crunch of the rice cake. Loved these!
A fab little kit to cook this at home. All you have to do is get the fresh ingredients. Then follow the instructions and use the Simply Cook Chef blend of authentic flavour blends and voila, Piri Piri Chicken.
My Overall Thoughts on the July 2019 Degusta Box UK
There was a good variety of items in this box. Personally, for me, there weren’t too many things that I liked. In fact, I only liked 3 things. Though, as I have said before, I am an incredibly fussy eater & I have a lot of food intolerances. The rest of my family can eat pretty much anything. It’s great to be able to share everything in the box with them and get their views and thoughts about everything.
I still think this is such a fantastic subscription box to have. You never know what you’re going to get each month. Such a fun way to try new things, that you might not usually purchase. I love the different brands I discover as well as the new products too.
