I received a really unexpected surprise just before Christmas. I was sent the December Little-Known Box by the lovely people there. December was their festive edition and they have featured two of their favourite brands from 2016; along with some new discoveries.
Being party season, the December Little-Known box has focused on the fact that we should be bold with our make-up. Step out of your comfort zone and try something different. Add a little sparkle and shimmer.
What’s in the Box?
It’s also a time when we really need to take of our skin too. Our skin definitely needs the extra bit of TLC during this season. What With cold weather, late nights and partying to contend with. The December Little-Known Box has got us covered.
I always love the chic black and gold branding that Little-Known Box uses, it always looks so elegant but on to the really important things – let’s take a look at what was inside the December Little-Known Box, shall we?
Mahogany Naturals Hydrating Repair Oil (Full Size) RRP £50.00
Mahogany Naturals Hydrating Repair Oil (Full Size) RRP £50.00. This gorgeous facial oil contains Rosehip and Chamomile to help rejuvenate, hydrate and soften your skin. Founded in 2012, this award-winning company is a British brand and uses only 100% natural and organic ingredients. They are also PETA certified and cruelty-free.
I adore Rosehip oil and I use this in my skincare on a daily basis already. As a huge fan of face oils, I was really excited to see this facial oil in this box. It’s a really lovely repair oil and it certainly does hydrate and softens the skin.
Amie Skincare Morning Dew Matte-Finish Moisturiser (Trial Size) RRP £4.95 100ml
Amie Skincare Morning Dew Matte-Finish Moisturiser (Trial Size) RRP £4.95 100ml – A lovely moisturiser containing organic Rosehip & Vitamin E. This mineral & paraben-free moisturiser softens and hydrates your skin. It will also protect it against sun damage and pollution. Amie Skincare is an award-winning brand suitable for vegetarians and vegans, made with natural and non-irritating ingredients.
As I said in another subscription review a couple or so days ago. I really love Amie and their products but feel that they’ve been doing the rounds in a lot of boxes. So I’m just not that excited when I see them at the moment. That’s one of the pitfalls of being a subscription box reviewer I guess.
PHB Ethical Beauty Angled Eyeshadow Brush (Full Size) RRP £7.95
PHB Ethical Beauty Angled Eyeshadow Brush (Full Size) RRP £7.95. It’s hard to believe that this is the first make-up brush that Little-Known Box has featured. Great choice though. A UK-based family-run business, handmade products, all of which are made from 100% naturally derived ingredients. This brush contains no animal hairs, so it’s also Vegan. Another great thing about PHB is that they donate 20% of all their profits to charity.
Beauty tools and accessories, such as brushes are always great to receive in subscription boxes. This angled eyes shadow brush is perfect for highlighting under the brow, and for applying shadow. It’s a really lovely quality brush, with soft bristles.
BeautyUK Rose-Shimmer Box (Full Size) RRP £4.99
The BeautyUK Rose-Shimmer Box (Full Size) RRP £4.99 – How stunning is this shimmer box? I love the sleek, simple black packaging and branding; very stylish. The 5 shades of colour when blended together, can be easily used as a blusher. As a bronzer, it gives a really healthy, natural rosy glow. BeautyUK is a new brand to me. I would definitely like to check out more of their range of cosmetics though.
GlitterEyes Eyeshadow Duo (Full Size) RRP £9.99
GlitterEyes Eyeshadow Duo (Full Size) RRP £9.99 – I absolutely love this pressed glitter duo from GlitterEyes. It’s simply gorgeous. So pigmented and such stunning colours, especially for my blue eyes. I used this duo on Christmas Day and really loved the results. It lasted all day and was really easy to get off. I thought when I removed it, that I would end up covered in glitter but I didn’t.
My Overall Thoughts About December Little-Known Box
I really loved the contents of the December Little-Known Box. There was make up for the festive party season. Plus skincare essentials to treat our skin for the cold winter months.
We also received all full-sized products apart from the trial size Amie moisturiser, which is pretty fantastic.
Aside from feeling a little non-plussed about the Amie product, I was thrilled with all the others items.
It’s actually hard to pick a favourite out of this box. If pushed I’d have to go with the Mahogany Naturals Hydrating Repair Oil…or the GlitterEyes Pressed Glitter Duo.
It was really such a nice surprise to be sent this box. So a BIG thank you to Helen and Little-Known Box for thinking of me. I really appreciate it and loved reviewing it!
Thinking of subscribing to a new beauty box? Definitely take a look at Little-Known Box. They produce consistently great boxes and you get to discover so many fantastic brands too.
