I hope you are all keeping safe and well during this second lockdown. What a complete mess this pandemic has been, eh! It’s hard to keep positive every day and you look for the little things that bring you pleasure and joy. One of the small pleasures for me each month has been receiving my Degusta Box. It is the contents of the Degusta Box October 2020 that I am sharing with you today.
Now, if you are new here and have never heard of Degusta Box UK I’ll quickly explain what it is.
Degusta Box UK is a monthly subscription box that contains between 10-15 items each month, most of which are new to the market. You can read some of my reviews for previous boxes here. It costs £12.99 per month. You can also find a discount at the end of the post. So, that means you’ll pay just £9.99 for your first box!
Degusta Box October 2020 Theme & Contents
The theme for the Degusta Box for October 2020 was ‘Halloween and Movie Night‘. Speaking of Halloween, I must admit it seemed very strange this year not having any kids doing trick or treat on Halloween. We would usually get loads knocking on the door. Anyway, let’s take a look at the contents in the October box.
What’s in the Box?: Sweet Treats

Fancy a hot chocolate break? I definitely recommend this Maltesers® Instant Hot Chocolate (rrp £2.59 350g)? It’s chocolatey and malty, just a really lovely hot chocolate.

I’m actually quite a fan of flapjacks, and this Brynmor Chocolate Flapjack (rrp £1.29) is really nice. Lots of high-quality natural ingredients and great with a cuppa.
The KitKat® Senses® Chocolate Selection Gift Box (rrp £5.00 240g) is jam-packed with three flavours of KitKat®, Hazelnut Praline, Salted Caramel and Double Chocolate. Very yummy and very moreish too.

You would have received two of these YES! Plant Protein Bars (rrp £1.59) in your Degusta Box October 2020. They went down really well with my son, and he said they were both delicious.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Minis (rrp £1.50) are one of my sons favourite chocolates; he absolutely loves them. Needless to say, they didn’t last very long at all. These have everything you love about Reese’s but in mini size.

The Kookie Cat Wild Berries cashew & oat cookie is included as a gift in the October box.

I didn’t get a look in with these Whaoo! Chocolate Filled Crepes (rrp £1.75). These are ideal as a sweet treat for kids and adults alike.
There was also a fully redeemable voucher for a box of Scarestrings Strawberry Yollies (rrp £2.00). However, as we shop online we were unable to claim them.

What’s in the Box: Savoury Items

This Attack A Snak (rrp £1.50) was claimed really quickly and eaten just as hastily. It got a big thumbs up too.

These St Pierre Brioche Burger Buns (rrp £2.00) were used up pretty quickly as we often have burgers and we prefer Brioche buns. The fact they were pre-sliced made things easier too. Would definitely get these again.

I am not a fan of coffee at all. However, this Costa Instant Coffee (rrp £5.50) has been really popular with the coffee drinkers in the family.

Naked Veg Pots (rrp £1.50) are 100% plant based. These actually count as 1 of your 5 a day surprisingly. So, they are great for a quick lunch or snack.
Olly’s Pretzel Thins (rrp £1.00) are so good. Lovely and salty and I really enjoyed how thin they were. I found it made them really moreish. They are also vegan, have less than 80% less fat, 45% fewer calories at less than 98 calories a pack.
My Overall Thoughts
There was a really nice selection of products in the October box. Disappointing not be able to redeem the voucher for the Scarestrings Strawberry Yollies but certainly not the end of the world.
Favourite Item of the Month
My favourite item out of this box is the Olly’s Pretzel Thins, closely followed by the Maltesers® Instant Hot Chocolate and the KitKat® Senses® Chocolate Selection Gift Box.
