Stupidly I missed the cut off date for cancelling my Glossybox subscription again after I signed up with the intent of just getting the December box. So, I also ended up with the January 2017 Glossybox too. January was the Edible Edit with Deliciously Stella. I don’t know if in thinking, who the hell is Deliciously Stella? I’ve never heard of her.
Apparently, she’s some Instagram sensation, who is rather tongue in cheek about food. Who knew?! Oh, and she has a book out too!

My first impression was that it looked like a pretty decent box. The same regular pink design but just with the words ‘The Edible Edit with Deliciously Stella’ on the side. Plus, the lid has a Deliciously Stella quote – ‘You can’t milk an almond’ printed on the inside too.
What’s in the Box?
So, onwards to the contents of the January Glossybox.

Unani Illuminate Milk Cleanser rrp £14.00 full size
Nice gentle cleansing milk containing natural oils. I love the packaging of this and it’s a pretty decent cleanser. It leaves the skin feeling nice and soft, not dry and tight.

Nip+Fab Kale Moisturiser rrp £19.95, not full size
I’m quite a big fan of the Nip+Fab products that I’ve tried to date. This is no exception and is a really lovely moisturiser. It contains kale, watercress, aloe vera, almond oil and shea butter. It leaves your skin feeling really nicely hydrated.

The Balm Meet Matt(e) Trimony Single Eyeshadow
I wasn’t very impressed that an eye shadow that actually says ‘free sample, not for sale on it, was included in a box that I have paid money for. Is that even legal to do? I don’t know. If it was added in as a free sample it might have been ok. It was, however, included as one of the 5 items that we PAY for. Not good Glossybox, not good! The eye shadow itself is nice quality and can be used wet or dry. Not my colour though and one that is not easy to wear for a lot of people I would imagine.

Hairon Zero Crease Tie rrp £3.99
Another thing I was not happy with within this box, is a repeat of these hair ties. I have thick hair so actually, find these hair ties pretty decent. My problem is that this is a product we received not too long ago. I notice other people received a cleansing brush or konjac sponge. Both of which are repeat items. It’s like they just wanted to use up extra stock leftover from previous boxes!

Vitamasques Manuka Honey Face Mask rrp £3.99
I love sheet masks and especially Manuka Honey ones. I’ve not tried this yet because I have stacks of masks that expire first. I’ve not heard of this brand either. It promises to be good, so I’ll review this on Instagram at a later date!
Overall Thoughts About The January Glossybox

I kind of wish I had managed to cancel my subscription before receiving this box. I wasn’t really impressed at all.
If the sample eye shadow and hair ties had been replaced with other items, it might have been a decent box. I don’t want to pay money for free samples though or to get repeats of items I’ve already received. It was things like this, that made me cancel in the first place. It’s just poor showing on the part of Glossybox though. I need to eat my words from last month as I stated that if they kept putting out quality boxes like December, I might be convinced to sign up again.
After the January Glossybox, NOPE!
The saving grace of this box for me was the Nip+Fab Kale Fix Moisturiser. Possibly the sheet mask if it turns out to be decent.
The Unani Illuminate Milk Cleanser was nice too but probably not something I would use again. I’m just not a fan of milk cleansers in general.
