I recently joined up for the Skin18 1-100 Review Program and the first product I received to review was a Mirum Fresh Fruit Mask in Blueberry.
We all know that Blueberry is a Super Food and it’s just as good for our skin. Blueberry has vitamins and minerals that will help restore your skins natural glow & health. They are good for your skin if you have acne, broken capillaries or patchy skin; the nutrients contained in Blueberries will help. The Vitamin A found in Blueberries is particularly used in a variety of acne treatments and may help to either neutralise or normalise the oil levels in your skin, making break outs less common.
The Vitamin C helps to strengthen the blood vessels just below the surface of the skin, in turn helping to combat spider veins and broken capillaries which can take weeks or months to heal.
The antioxidants in Blueberries also help to neutralise free radicals which would otherwise damage skin; leaving it younger and feeling softer.
There really are so many good benefits that Blueberries have.
This Mirum Fresh Fruit Blueberry Mask is for activating and revitalising; with soothing blueberry of course. The mask itself is a crosel mask. Made from 100% natural cotton, this mask is designed to cling to the face more securely and allows for all the active ingredients of the essence to absorb into the skin more easily and thoroughly.
The mask itself was saturated in essence. I could smell the delicate floral smell of blueberries as soon as I opened the packet. A really pleasant subtle blueberry smell, not overpowering at all. It felt very cooling and soothing when first applying. I didn’t feel any tingling or burning or any irritation at all, which is always a good thing with my sensitive skin.
It fitted pretty well in most areas but I did find the nose flap was a little too short for me – is my nose really THAT big?! Due to it being a crosel mask it was quite secure when first applied, however, I did notice that it began to dry out and kept coming away at the edges because of this.
I’m not sure if this was all down to the mask though, as the night I tried this it was extremely hot and humid so I was sitting with a fan blowing cold air on full power directly at me. So, I do think it would not have dried so quickly. After about 20 mins it had really dried out quite a lot and was starting to come away from a lot of areas on my face, so I decided to remove it.
There was still some essence left on my face after removing the mask and in the packet, so I patted the remainder into my skin.
My skin felt really hydrated, soft and the mask did seem to calm the redness my face had before the mask. It also seemed like it had made my skin less shiny, so I would say it did neutralise any excess oil in my skin too. Overall, I was pleased with the results; my skin was noticeably improved afterwards.
This difference could still be seen the next morning too. Despite it drying out so quickly, again I blame the cold fan air mostly, I would purchase this mask. It’s not amazing but it certainly makes your skin look and feel really healthy, soft and hydrated.
