Last month I mentioned all the rain we were having and this past week I’ve done nothing but complain about the heat! Typical; though thankfully it is considerably cooler today. I had intended to write this review for the Degusta Box for July 2024 last week but I’ve been having cluster headaches, my doctor prescribed Sumatriptan nasal spray to see if it would help. Then on top of that, my back went & I could barely move. So yeah, fun days…
Anyway, back to the July Degusta Box! One of my favourite things about Degusta Box is the element of discovery. You never quite know what you’ll get, but that’s all part of the fun! It’s the perfect way to expand your horizons and try products you might not have stumbled across otherwise. Who knows, you may even find a new favourite product!
What is Degusta Box All About?
So, if you are new here and have never heard of Degusta Box UK I’ll quickly explain what it is and how it works.
Degusta Box UK is a monthly subscription box that contains between 10-15 items each month, most of which are new to the market. The products are chosen and put together by a team of specialists who look for foods that are versatile, innovative, and delicious. You can read some of my reviews for previous boxes here. It costs £14.99 per month. You can also find a discount at the end of the post. So, that means you’ll pay just £9.99 for your first box!
Degusta Box July 2024 Theme
Shall we take a little peek at what was in the Degusta Box for July 2024? There was no theme for this box and it featured 9 different brands and 9 items!
Contents of the July Degusta Box 2024
Sweet Items
Bio&Me Flapjack Oat Bar Cocoa Hazelnut (£1.50 ea)
You would have received one of three available flavours of these Flapjack Oat Bars from Bio&Me. I got the Cocoa Hazelnut one and the others you may have gotten are Toffee Apple or Superberry. I did try this but I don’t really like hazelnut and as much as I wanted to, I didn’t like it.
Available in Eaitrose, Sainsbury's, Tesco and in bulk from the Bio&Me website
Product of the Month
Peppadew® Mild Sweet Piquante Peppers (£3.25 ea)
Sadly I can’t eat peppers, I am intolerant and they make me ill. The rest of the family tried them and thoroughly enjoyed them though. They had a fresh and crisp taste and each pepper was de-cored by hand. This makes them perfect for stuffing, should you wish to!
Available at major supermarkets
Sauce Items
Dr. Will’s Tomato Ketchup (£4.50)
We all loved this tomato ketchup. It was full of flavour; sweet tangy tomato goodness! Plus, none of that added sugar.
Available at Waitrose, C0-op, Ocado, Amazon and Dr. Will's website
Cereal Items
Joyfull Millet Muesli Choco & Nut Crunchy (£4.20)
I don’t like muesli but my family said this is a great tasting and crunchy muesli made with millet, Jumbo Oats, Brown Rice Flakes, Flax Seeds, Cranberries and Sliced Almonds all lightly coated in rich Choco.
Available at Tesco
Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Drinks
MAHOU 5 ESTRELLAS (£2.50)
Andy tried this but it didn’t agree with him at all. But he thought it tasted great and loved it whilst drinking it lol. It should taste great though as it’s the world’s most awarded Spanish Lager. ABV 4.8%
Available at Sainsbury's and Morrisons supermarkets
Naked Natural Energy Red or Gold (£1.25 each)
You would have received one of two flavours in your July box. I got the Natural Energy Red, which is an apple, raspberry and goji berry flavour. This was such a nice energy drink; made from real fruit, with no added sugar, 5 essential vitamins and caffeine. It also has no artificial additives. Not sure I noticed an energy boost after drinking this but it was still tasty and refreshing to drink.
Available at WHSmith and other independent retailers
Nescafe Gold Blend 150g Paper Refill pack (£5.99 ea)
You can’t go wrong with Nescafe Gold, can you? Love that this is in a 100% recyclable paper pouch.
Available at Tesco
Rubicon Spring Pink Grapefruit Blood Orange (£1.29 ea)
This was so refreshing after being chilled. I do love flavoured sparkling spring water and I haven’t tried Rubicon all that much, so this was a lovely discovery.
Available at major supermarkets and independent convenience stores
MOTH Aperitive Spritz (£3.99 ea)
These are cocktails in a can and they have a kick, especially for a lightweight me. I rarely drink because of all the medication I take, so everything goes to my head FAST! lol I’ve tried a few canned cocktails and I have to say, this one does taste like it’s just been made; not poured out of a can.
Available at major supermarket chains
Final Thoughts On The Degusta Box July 2024
To be completely honest, and I always am, this box for me was a bit ‘meh’. There was only one product that I was excited to try and that was the Naked Natural Energy Drink. I think it’s because most of the items were ones that I can’t or wouldn’t have – I know, I’m fussy lol
So, not surprisingly my top two picks from July’s Degusta Box are the Naked Natural Energy Drink Red and the Nescafe Gold Refill Pack.
