What’s In The Box? Sweet Treats
Love Raw M:lk® Choc Peanut Butter Cups (rrp £1.89)
One of my sons claimed this as he loves peanut butter cups. You get two cups in this packet and they were really tasty. My son also said the peanut butter filling was especially smooth and creamy. He gave them two thumbs up, high praise from my son.
Available at Tesco, Ocado, Waitrose, Amazon, loveraw.com and selected independents
Frutrip Puree Squeeze Variety Pack (£7.50)
I was really intrigued by these and they didn’t disappoint! I enjoyed both flavours but surprisingly the Hallabong Ginger was my favourite. There are several ways you can eat these. I just had them straight from the packet; I found them quite refreshing like that. You can also eat them as an ice sorbet, cocktail base and as a topping. They also have no artificial flavours and there is no water, just pure product.
Available at Amazon
Aero Caramel Chocolate Melts (£1.75)
These were pretty tasty, the smooth and creamy Aero® chocolate that I’m used to but with the added richness of caramel. I couldn’t eat too many of these as I found the caramel a bit too much after a few melts. Though caramel is not one of my favourite flavours.
Available at major supermarkets
What’s in the Box? Savoury
Knorr Quick Soups: Chicken Noodle or Tomato or Chicken or Vegetable (rrp £0.75)
Happy to see some Quick Soups in the Degusta Box for October 2023. I’ve always loved these quick and tasty soups that you can have from a mug. These were no exception, lots of flavour and just a really enjoyable hot drink. You should have received 2 out of 4 available flavours.
Available at ASDA
Chipoys Fire Red Hot (£1.99)
I didn’t even attempt to try these as I don’t do hot/spicy foods at all! Andy tried them and said they were good but a little too hot even for him! So if you like heat in your chips/crisps, then you might like these!
Available at Amazon and across independent convenience and symbol stores
Product of the Month
Tilda Sticky Rice 250gm (£ 1.54)
If you love sushi or Poke Bowls then this new sticky rice from Tilda will be perfect for you! It has the perfect sticky texture that is just right for making them. I just really love the sticky rice as is.
Available at Major Supermarkets
PEPPADEW® Sweet Mild Whole Piquante Peppers 400gm (£3.25 each)
I can’t eat peppers as my body can’t tolerate them. They looked really nice though and my family enjoyed them with some pasta. They said that they were mild and sweet and were surprised at how crunchy they were too.
Available in the Major Supermarket chains
What’s In The Box? Sauces
SimplyCook Jerk Chicken, Nasi Goreng or Cajun Jambalaya Recipe Kit (£2.50 each)
We’ve had some of these before, just none of these particular flavours but the family loved them. You only need a few fresh ingredients and you can cook an amazingly tasty dinner in around 30 minutes. You would have received one of the three flavour recipe kits mentioned. This time we got the Jerk Chicken was equally as tasty as the other flavours we’ve had.
Available at Major Supermarket chains
Knorr Hairy Bikers’ Chilli Stock Pot (£1.90 each)
We are always well stocked with Knorr Stock Pots so couldn’t wait to try these Hairy Bikers’ ones. Andy made a very quick chilli with one of these stock pots for my daughter and himself. They both loved the results and made sure I got another lot when we did our online shop at Tesco!
Available in Waitrose, Ocado and Tesco
Very Lazy Teriyaki Paste (£2.00 each)
We always use Very Lazy and usually have anywhere from one to four jars in our pantry. They just make so much sense and cut out a lot of the work for you when cooking. Andy is always experimenting in the kitchen with different tastes and flavours, so he’s loved using this one.
Available at Sainsbury's, ASDA and Morrisons
What’s In The Box? Cereal
Kellogg’s 20g – 35g (£0.70 each)
Kellogg’s cereals were such a big part of my life growing up. They still are now really, I mean, nothing better than a bowl of cornflakes in ice-cold milk as a snack any time of day! I mean, even eating them just as a snack straight out of the box works too lol You would have received all four cereals in your Degusta Box this month.
Available in other sizes at all major supermarkets
What’s In The Box? Drinks
Caleño Drinks Tropical Non-alcoholic Pre-mixed Cocktails (£2.50 each)
You would have received both of these flavour cocktails in your October box. If you can’t or don’t want to drink alcohol, these make a fantastic alcohol-free version. They definitely make you wish you were enjoying a delicious cocktail somewhere far from home! You would have received both of these flavours in your October Degusta Box.
Available on calenodrinks.com and Amazon
My Overall Thoughts On The Degusta Box October 2023
As a ‘Movie Night’ themed box I have to say I was pretty surprised there was no actual popcorn. Well, technically there was supposed to be a Love Corn Crunchy Snack in Sea Salt, which was a ‘gifted’ item I believe but there wasn’t one in mine. I even checked all the leaflets in the box, wondering if there was supposed to be a code or voucher to redeem, but I never found one.
The Frutrip Puree Squeezes were such a yummy discovery! Probably my favourite from this box. With the Knorr Quicksoups and the Kellogg’s cereals close behind them.
