Didn’t I just post the March box five minutes ago? No? Damn, this year is flying by. I tell you what though, I am already dreading the warmer weather; definitely not a sun worshipper. Anyway, I’m here to share the April 2019 DegustaboxUK with you. The April box theme is ‘the best of British and outdoors‘, so let’s see what there was.
I think everyone has had or has at least heard of Cheerios. These are the Oat Cheerios which are made with 81% whole grain oats. They are naturally high in fibre.
Typhoo has been around for as long as I can remember and before that. I’m not a tea drinker unless it’s fruit tea. I’m pretty sure many people have a particular brand of teabags that they always buy. Also, I’m sure a lot of those are Typhoo drinkers.
You can’t go wrong with a good old staple like beans. One of my favourite meals is still beans on toast. It’s comfort food and takes me straight back to my childhood. Though, I still to this day will only eat Heinz baked beans. I’m interested to see if there is much taste difference between this Organic one and the usual can of baked beans.
Soup is another comfort food that I always enjoy. My go-to at the moment is Heinz Spring Vegetable. I really love this Pot Soup though, making it even more convenient. Also worth noting that the pots are actually recyclable too. Heinz Tomato Soup is a classic flavour but I don’t have it very often, I’m more a veg or oxtail soup kinda girl. Unless it’s homemade soup, then I am very much a leek & potato lover.
Andy and the lads were eyeing this Bull’s-Eye NY Barbecue Steak Sauce up. Just need some nice steak now for them to try this authentic American BBQ sauce.
With the taste of juicy ripe pears combined with the delicate flavour of Elderflower, this Robinsons Pressed Pear & Elderflower Fruit Cordial is perfect for the warmer weather. A nice tall glass, plenty of ice and sit back and enjoy the refreshing taste of this lovely cordial.
With no added sugar or sweeteners, this delicious Mango & Passion Fruit fruit juice from CRAFTED also counts as one of your five a day. It made me think of Soleros but in juice form. This juice tastes so much better if chilled and drank with ice.
Now sadly I don’t like BBQ flavour and smoked BBQ – or anything smoked, to be honest – even less. These Love Corn Smoked BBQ went down a treat with the family though. Crunchy, lots of flavour and yummy was the verdict.
Sushi is one thing that I have never tried and neither has any of my family either. It’s not something that I have wanted to try either if I am completely honest. This Eat Water Slim Rice Sushi is only 9 calories per piece too, so I guess that is something. It’s also gluten-free, sugar-free, salt-free and fat-free. None of us has tried it yet but we will at some point.
‘Oh yes, give me ALL the Candy Kittens‘ is what I was thinking when I saw these in the April 2019 DegustaboxUK! I have tried a few flavours and have enjoyed all of them. It sucks being a Diabetic though as I shouldn’t really eat them at all. I do sneak one or two though, ya know, just for the review’s sake! Oh, they are also gelatine & gluten-free too, as well as being Vegan!
So, I won’t lie this packet of Teriyaki London Flavours absolutely stunk – well, to me at least. Andy, however, ate the whole packet to himself and thought they were lovely – OK, I believe you, Andy! This was one of three flavours you could have received in April’s box.
You can receive one of these two flavours in the April box. These #notguilty crispies are gluten-free, have no added sugar and are high in protein. The whole packet is less than 100 calories as well. The lads loved these snacks.
Lastly, you could have received one of these flavours of Pachamama bars. These have no added sugar and are also 100% Vegan. Both flavours were equally as good and the family really liked them. Full of fruit, nuts, seeds and grains, these are great on the go snacks for an added bit of energy.
My Overall thoughts on the April 2019 degustaboxuk
As usual, there were lots packed into the April 2019 DegustaboxUK. This box was definitely well-liked by my family and there were several items that I really liked too – I’m a fussy eater so liking any more than two items is good for me! lol
My favourite items would be the Candy Kittens, Heinz Pot Soup and the CRAFTED fruit juice.
