I think I spent most of this month being ill. I’m still not entirely back to normal but I am getting there. It sure is no fun having no immune system. But, here I am ready to share the Degusta Box February 2023 with you.
What is Degusta Box All About?
So, if you are new here and have never heard of Degusta Box UK I’ll quickly explain what it is and how it works.
Degusta Box UK is a monthly subscription box that contains between 10-15 items each month, most of which are new to the market. The products are chosen and put together by a team of specialists who look for foods that are versatile, innovative, and delicious. You can read some of my reviews for previous boxes here. It costs £12.99 per month. You can also find a discount at the end of the post. So, that means you’ll pay just £7.99 for your first box!
Degusta Box February 2023 Theme & Contents
This box has a theme of Home Comforts so let’s dive into the box and see what products Degusta Box considers a home comfort.
What’s In The Box? Sweet Treats
KitKat® 2 Finger Caramel 9 x 20.7g (rrp £1.99)
If you love caramel-flavoured things then I would imagine that you would love this caramel KitKat®. I love KitKat® but I just didn’t enjoy these, a definite miss for me. My eldest son, who loves caramel absolutely loved them though.
What’s in the Box? Savoury
simply roasted sea salt (£1.19)
Absolutely loved these crisps. They were super crunchy, light and tasty. Probably one of the nicest crisps I have ever had. The triple roasting makes them so delicious.
Heinz® Beans and Vegan Sausages (£2.00)
Everything you know and love about Heinz® Beans and Sausages except its Vegan. I honestly couldn’t taste any real difference.
Heinz® Plant-Based Tomato Soup (£1.70)
Who doesn’t love a bowl of tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich? Again, I couldn’t discern any noticeable taste difference between this and the original tomato soup. It’s what you’d expect from such a loved household brand as Heinz®.
Product of the Month
New Tilda Golden Vegetable Rice (£1.54)
This rice was so lovely! Quick & easy and full of flavour. I actually eat just a bowl of this on its own. It would certainly make a great accompaniment to meat, fish or veggies though.
What’s in the Box? Sauces
Zest Vegan Pasta Sauces (£2.99)
You would have received 1 of 2 flavours that were available. I got the vegan spinach, mushroom & ric***a. These sauces are gluten and soy free. It was really nice and not something we would usually buy so a pleasant revelation.
Very Lazy Chilli Boosts (£3.00)
This is another product where you would have received 1 of 2 available flavours. We got the Zingy Chilli Boost. The other flavour was Smokey Chilli Boost. We haven’t used this yet but we plan to try the recipe on the leaflet that was in the Degusta Box, Speedy Chilli Pork Noodles. However, we do already love Very Lazy and use their products regularly.
What’s In The Box? Cereals
Bio&Me Super Seedy & Nutty Gut-Loving Porridge (£1.50)
I left this for someone else to try as I’m not a fan of seeds and don’t enjoy nuts in anything. I would have tried another flavour though as I do love porridge/oats. Very convenient to have an on-the-go pot though and it has 14 plant-based foods and prebiotic fibres.
What’s In The Box? Drinks
Aqua Libra Infused Sparkling Water Blood Orange & Mango, Cucumber, Mint & Lime (£1.15)
I was bowled over by the Blood Orange & Mango and I have to say the Cucumber, Mint and Lime pleasantly surprised me. Both were incredibly refreshing and you can really taste the flavours without them being overpowering. You would have received both of these flavours in the Degusta Box February 2023.
Nescafé Azera Americano 75g(£3.60)
Andy loves this coffee but we don’t buy it very often as it’s on the pricier side when it comes to coffee. He’d have it all the time if we could afford it! lol, It is a ‘super premium barista-inspired instant coffee’ though.
B. INK Red Blend 187ml (£2.50)
Red wine is Andy’s favourite, so he was more than happy to try this Red Blend by B. INK; his only complaint was it was too small. He thought it was a really lovely full-bodied wine. This is a sample size and the full-size bottles are £9.00
My Overall Thoughts On The Degusta Box February 2023
As I mentioned earlier the Degusta Box February 2023 had a theme of Home Comforts. So, I wasn’t surprised to see familiar and well-loved brands like Heinz.
This month my favourite item was the Aqua Libra Sparkling Water infused with Blood Orange & Mango. Such a lovely refreshing drink and it made me long for the nicer weather.
I also really enjoyed the Tilda Golden Vegetable Rice, I often buy different brands of flavoured rice but I actually preferred Tildas. The Simply Roasted Sea Salt Crisps were a revelation and I will definitely look to buy these when we shop. So much crunch and flavour, they were delicious.
