As I’m writing this I am incredibly grateful that I have a portable AC unit in my bedroom because it’s so hot and humid today. It’s supposed to be even hotter tomorrow! Maybe we will actually get more than a day or two of nice, summery weather. I also cannot quite believe that we are halfway through the year already. The months seem to fly by so quickly the older I get. Anyway, enough of my waffling on, and onto the real reason I am here, the Degusta Box for June 2022.
What is Degusta Box All About?
So, if you are new here and have never heard of Degusta Box UK I’ll quickly explain what it is and how it works.
Degusta Box UK is a monthly subscription box that contains between 10-15 items each month, most of which are new to the market. The products are chosen and put together by a team of specialists who look for foods that are versatile, innovative, and delicious. You can read some of my reviews for previous boxes here. It costs £12.99 per month. You can also find a discount at the end of the post. So, that means you’ll pay just £7.99 for your first box!
Degusta Box For June 2022 Theme & Contents
The June box has a ‘Picnic’ theme and with this lovely weather we’re having right now, a picnic would be perfect. Well, aside from the ants, wasps and mosquitoes lol Yeah, I am not an outdoors person at all! Anyway, let’s dive into the contents of the Degusta Box for June 2022.
What’s In The Box? Sweet Treats
Urban Fruit Gently Baked Pineapple (rrp £1.00) – You should receive 2 items in your box. Tasty, baked pineapple pieces of fruity goodness! They are also high in Fibre and count as one of your 5-a-day too.
Chewits Stick Packs (rrp £0.50) – I have to say that I have loved Chewits since I was a kid and the two new flavours are no exception. You get both the Sweet Cherry Pack and the Xtreme Lemon Stick Pack in your box. I also love that they are individually wrapped sticks but still have that amazing fruity flavour to them.
KitKat® Bites Sharing Bag (£1.59 ) – I love these delish and moreish KitKat® Bites but I wouldn’t want to share them – they’re way too yummy!!
Kind Snacks Fruit & Nut | Maple Pecan Almond (rrp £1.49) – You will receive one of two bars in your June Box. If you love fruit & nut bars, I am pretty sure you will love these. Both have over 80% nuts in them, the Fruit & Nut having 82% fruit & nuts. So big in healthy fats!
Plantastic Chocolate & Cherry Flapjacks (rrp £2.25) A mixture of double chocolate, glace cherries and sunflower seeds, make this a flavoursome flapjack, and I would never have known it was plant-based.
What’s In The Box? Savoury
Napolina Drained Quinoa | Drained Cannellini Beans (rrp £0.75) – You would have received both of these items in your Degusta Box for June. These are perfect for using in salads, or even lunchboxes as there’s no mess, so no fussing about with them. They also count as one of your five-a-day.
Whitworths Protein By Nature Moroccan Grains (rrp £2.00) – These are a combination of grains, mung dal and soya and ras-el-hanout spices. I have never tried any Moroccan food, so I am not familiar with the spices they use but they are described as soul-warming. The recipe actually has 20g of protein, so if you already love Moroccan food I am sure you would enjoy this too.
Hippeas Chickpea Snacks Sriracha Chilli Chickpeas Puffs (£0.99) – Our family love Hippeas Chickpea snacks and these were no exception. They really enjoyed the Sriracha Chilli flavour and in fact, said it’s their favourite one so far. Such a fantastic snack alternative!
What’s in the Box? Sauces
Guinness Cooking Paste (£3.00) – Andy took one look at this, then looked at me pulling a confused face. So, I had to remind him that Guinness is often used in sauces for casseroles, stews and the like. We haven’t had the chance to use it yet but I am sure it’ll give some lovely depth and flavour to the next stew we make.
Knorr Fish Stock Pot (£1.65) – To be completely honest, fish isn’t something we eat in this house, unless it’s a fish finger or cod from the chippy. So I can’t see us using this. I’ll probably pass this on to a friend/family that does eat fish dishes.
What’s In The Box? Drinks
Boost Iced Coffee Coffee Mocha | Caffe Latte (£1.00) – You receive both flavours in the Degusta Box for June 2022. I’m not a coffee drinker, not even iced coffee BUT my youngest son loves iced coffee; so he tried these and loved both of them.
J2O Spritz Apple & Watermelon (£2.65 each | £4.00 multipack) – Lovely & refreshing when served chilled and even better that they’re only 55 calories a bottle. I’m not a fan of watermelon flavour usually but I actually really liked it blended with the apple flavour.
My Overall Thoughts On The Degusta Box For June 2022
There were a couple of items in this box that I thought didn’t really fit with a picnic theme. Like the Guinness Paste and the Knorr Fish Stock Pots. However, I think the rest of the items could be included in a picnic basket. Maybe I’m just not thinking outside the box enough. lol
My favourite items in the Degusta Box for June 2022 are the Urban Fruit Gently Baked Pineapple, the KitKat® Bites and the Chewits Stick Packs.
