I hope everyone survived the horrendous heat we had on Monday and Tuesday. Some areas reached temps of 40 °C! Unbelievable temperatures for the UK! It’s also mad that only 2 days later it is only 16°C here where I live. Talk about weather whiplash! Though I am thankful that it is cooler because my body does not tolerate heat well. Anyway, I digress so I will get on with the reason why I am here, which is the Degusta Box for July 2022 review.
What is Degusta Box All About?
So, if you are new here and have never heard of Degusta Box UK I’ll quickly explain what it is and how it works.
Degusta Box UK is a monthly subscription box that contains between 10-15 items each month, most of which are new to the market. The products are chosen and put together by a team of specialists who look for foods that are versatile, innovative, and delicious. You can read some of my reviews for previous boxes here. It costs £12.99 per month. You can also find a discount at the end of the post. So, that means you’ll pay just £7.99 for your first box!
Degusta Box For July 2022 Theme & Contents
The box for this month had a Summer & Get Outdoors theme. So, let’s see exactly what’s in the Degusta Box for July 2022.
What’s In The Box? Sweet Treats
CLIF BAR® White Chocolate Macadamia Nut (rrp £1.75) – This energy bar contains 9g of protein and is also plant-based. Creamy white chocolate and roasted macadamias are the stars of this bar.
Rose Marketing UK Polaretti Fruits Freeze Pops (rrp £1.50) – Delicious freeze pops or to me, this type of thing used to be called tip tops. Loved them as a kid and these ones are just as lovely. I mean you can’t really go wrong where frozen lollies are concerned!
SKITTLES® Squishy Cloudz Fruits and Squishy Cloudz Crazy Sours (£1.00 ) – Absolutely loved both of these SKITTLES® Cloudz. I actually prefer them to the original SKITTLES®. Soft gummies, full of fruity flavour; I can see why they called them Cloudz as they are so light. You would receive both of these in your box.
What’s In The Box? Savoury
KP Salt & Vinegar Flavour Peanuts Snack Pack 5pk (rrp £3.00) – Great to see these snack packs, however I didn’t really like this flavour. I much prefer dry roasted or salted peanuts.
Mister Free’d Mango Chilli Tortilla Chips (rrp £1.99) My family loved these. Nice and crunchy with a fab taste. They are gluten-free, vegan-friendly and made with only natural ingredients.
Herdez Mexico City Classic Taco Seasoning and Yucatan Seasoning and Oaxaca Barbacoa Seasoning (rrp £1.19) – Herdez has over 100 years of experience when it comes to creating quality authentic Mexican regional flavours. You would have received two of these items in your Degusta Box for July.
Mission Chargrilled Wraps (rrp £1.50) – These wraps are best served warm, ideal for a bbq. Our family loves wraps and these were no exception.
Heinz Plant Proteinz Thai Red Curry Soup (£1.50) – We haven’t tried this yet but I can tell you it contains a whopping 15g of plant protein. I prefer soup of any kind on a cold day, definitely not in the heat we’ve had. It does sound delicious though!
What’s in the Box? Sauces
Hamadaya Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce and Seasoning Soy Sauce (£2.99) – You would have received one of these soy sauces in your box. I received the Brewed Soy Sauce. This is a premium quality Japanese Soy Sauce that is derived from superior Koji. Made from a two-century-old recipe by Hamadaya.
What’s In The Box? Drinks
Shaken Udder Chocolush (£1.75) – My youngest son tried this and said it was really good. Creamy and had lots of delicious chocolate flavour. It’s made with Belgian chocolate, is gluten-free and suitable for vegetarians. Yet, it’s still packed with goodness in the form of Vitamin B12, Calcium and protein.
Rubicon Spring Orange Mango and Black Cherry Raspberry (£1.29 single unit / £3.49 for multipack) – You receive both flavours in the Degusta Box for July 2022. Both of these flavours were lovely and refreshing and contain only 9 calories per can. My favourite of the two flavours was the Orange Mango one.
Pravha Lighter Tasting Pilsner (£2.00 each | £25.99 24 pack) – Drank this ice cold and it was really light and refreshing in the heat.
My Overall Thoughts On The Degusta Box For July 2022
I quite enjoyed the contents of the July box. Although the Heniz® soup seemed a little out of place for a ‘Summer and Get Outdoors‘ theme, or is that just me? I do wish I wasn’t such a picky eater and that I didn’t have food intolerances. However, what I won’t or can’t eat there is always at least one member of our family that will.
My favourite items in the Degusta Box for July 2022 are the SKITTLES® Squishy Cloudz Crazy Sours and Fruits. These are just so lovely, light and airy gummies with so much fruit flavour to them. I loved the Crazy Sours, they were my absolute favourite out of the two.
