I can’t believe that the last time I reviewed Moi-Même was back in November 2019! It really doesn’t feel like 2 years ago, that is for sure! This time I am reviewing the Moi-Même for December 2021 and let me tell you it’s a really lovely box.
Before we get into the box itself, if you have never heard of Moi-Même, it is a quarterly & monthly luxury lifestyle box founded by Camilla Bourquin. The monthly box was a new addition that made its debut back in May 2019. They have also added the ability to build your own box and you can also purchase past boxes in their online shop. There are other items that can be purchased in their online shop as well.
It was in early 2016 when my idea for Moi-Même began to take shape. After a particularly difficult week involving visiting relatives, career uncertainty and a baby who just wouldn’t sleep, I needed some retail therapy. I was already a subscriber to a couple of beauty boxes and loved how I felt when a surprise parcel arrived at my door, but I wanted more than just small samples and needed variety. I wanted accessories, jewellery, stationery, candles and, most importantly, I wanted them to be things I would actually wear and use. After a fruitless search for the ideal lifestyle box, I decided to create my own.
A few months later, we launched The Adventure Box in the Summer of 2016. The reaction was more than we ever could have hoped for and I am beyond thrilled that so many people have since joined the Moi-Même club. As the subscription box market grows daily, I take great pride in keeping the personal, luxurious feel of Moi-Même. We have so many plans for the future and we can’t wait to show you what’s in store! “
What’s In The Box?
I love the simple, elegant packaging of the Moi-Même boxes. The items are nestled inside white tissue paper and sealed with a logo sticker. The information card you receive is printed on a high-quality card too. In this December monthly Home for Christmas Moi-Même box you get 3 beautiful luxury treats for yourself, which consists of:
- 1 lifestyle gift
- 1 beauty gift
- a sweet treat
So, what items are actually inside the Moi-Même for December 2021? Let’s take a look, shall we?
Sophie Allport Home for Christmas Mug
First up is this beautiful Sophie Allport fine bone china mug from their ‘Home for Christmas’ range. The very Christmassy illustrations on the mug are all dot illustrations, which you can see in the close-up photo. They’re lovely and colourful and I really like the variety of the dot illustrations. It’s a lovely mug and it’s also dishwasher and microwave safe. Plus, if you love this mug they have a matching tea towel in the Moi-Même online shop.
Clarity Blend Deep Forest Body & Bath Oil
The beauty treat for this box is the Deep Forest Body & Bath Oil by Clarity Blend. I have to be honest and say that I wasn’t that keen on the scent of this but that’s just my personal preference. The oil itself is really lovely. I could only use it as body oil because we have a wet room, so no bath. It is 100% natural and also vegan with no artificial fragrances or parabens.
It’s great to use on wet skin as it really locks in all the moisture and leaves the skin feeling super soft. My skin felt so soft after using this and anything that makes my dry skin feel soft is a miracle worker! Then again it has nutrient-rich Jojoba and Almond oils. The blend of vetiver to calm, fir needles, black pepper and sweet orange to boost the mood, helps you to unwind, slow down and be able to relax and charge your batteries whilst enjoying a quiet bath.
Thankfully there’s no oily/greasy residue after use either. The scent of the oil is described as being earthy and masculine with citrus top notes and I would definitely agree with that. I think that is why I’m not so keen on it as I’m not really into earthy, natural scents. That’s probably due to having a very sensitive sense of smell. My sons really enjoyed the scent though. As I said, it’s totally a personal preference.
Coco Pzazz Milk Chocolate & Honeycomb Snowflakes
I’ll start by saying that once these were opened they were gone the same day! Oops! lol Seriously though, these gorgeous chocolates were delicious. The brand, Coco Pzazz, makes artisan chocolate and fudge and hails from the Welsh countryside. These milk chocolate & honeycomb snowflakes tasted so good. I liked that each snowflake was individually wrapped, so you can have just one without worrying about the rest spoiling. I really liked the artwork on the box too and it’s worth noting that the packaging is sustainable as they use compostable bio-film and recyclable cardboard.
The chocolate itself was smooth and milky with just the right amount of crunch from the honeycomb, which was also delish!
My Overall Thoughts On The Moi-Même Home for Christmas Box
I thought this box would make a beautiful gift to give someone for Christmas; a little bit of luxury. God knows we could all do with some spoiling this year! Aside from that it also makes a lovely gift to treat yourself with too. Enjoy a bath with the body & bath oil, and afterwards make a hot cuppa in the mug, snuggle up with a good film and enjoy one of the chocolate & honeycomb snowflakes…or two! What could be more relaxing and perfect for Christmas?
