After waiting for just over a couple of weeks my Bomibox for September 2016 finally arrived yesterday! I admit I was grinning like a Cheshire cat and about as excited as a little kid tearing into Christmas presents on Christmas morning! Not even exaggerating, not even a little!
This glorious pink box of Korean beauty goodness was all I hoped it was going to be and much more. You can watch a quick unboxing video here if you want to before we take a closer look at the individual products.
First, though, let’s take a quiet moment to appreciate this pretty pink packaging.
I love the design of the box; the pale pink and the gold logo design makes it look very classy.
The first thing that greets you is this matching pink card, with the phrase “I deserve to feel beautiful” in gold lettering. I love the font they’ve used. Really elegant.
I adore this tissue paper, with such pretty pink cherry blossoms; it’s just such a perfect fit for the box and a little something extra than your normal plain tissue paper.
On the reverse of the card is information about all the products within the box. The one thing missing is the RRP of each product. No biggie but I know lots of people like to know how much they’re getting for their monthly subscription. This information is easy enough to google though.
Finally, you pull back the pretty tissue paper and an abundance of Korean beauty products await you; when I say abundance, I mean ABUNDANCE!

What’s In The Bomibox for September 2016?
The first things that grabbed my attention were the two COSRX products.
I have wanted to try something from COSRX for such a long time and these two are among their most popular products.
COSRX Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser | RRP £8.00 approx
The COSRX Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser is very well-known in the world of Korean Beauty. Salicylic Acid is great for keeping breakouts at a minimum. It also contains tea tree oil too and will help keep your sebum under control, keeping your skin cleaner and clearer in the long run. This cream type cleanser works by creating micro bubbles which clear away dead skin cells, makeup and just the day’s general dirt and grime. This helps prevent whiteheads from forming which when oxidised develop into blackheads.
COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner | RRP £23.00 approx
The COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner is also another Korean Beauty favourite. This toner is great even for sensitive skins. It contains natural AHA from 10% Pyrus Malus Apple Fruit Water and BHAs from Willow Bark Water. These make it able to get deep down into your pores and clear out dead skin cells, debris and also excess sebum. It essentially acts as a daily exfoliant for your skin and at the same time also preps it so your skin can better absorbs the rest of your skincare products, such as serums and ampoules. Given time this toner will help to make your skin brighter, diminish visible blackheads and whiteheads and just leave your skin looking much smoother in texture and overall tone.
Missha Line Essence Mild Sun lotion | RRP £12.50
We then have this really adorably packaged Missha Line Essence Mild Sun lotion. This cream is a 100% Mineral Filter Mild Sun Cream with an SPF 30 / PA++. It also features Naver LINE Friends, Brown on the packaging too.
Innisfree Hand cream | RRP £5.31
I actually already own 2 of these Innisfree Hand creams, including this Lotus Flower one. They smell amazing, such a gorgeous smell and they are a really lovely non-greasy hand cream. This hand cream is formulated with Olive oil emulsion and Shea butter extracts. It leaves your hands soft and smelling of lotus flowers.
Mediheal Line Friends I.P.L Lightmax Ampoule Mask | RRP £16.00 approx per box of 10
I also always wanted to try one of these Mediheal Line Friends I.P.L Lightmax Ampoule masks, so was thrilled to see one included in the September 2016 Bomibox. I.P.L (Intense Perfect Light) Whitelux helps control the creation of melanin and makes your skin brighter and more radiant.
COSRX Holy Moly Snail Mask | RRP £3.00 approx
The COSRX Holy Moly Snail Mask is yet another item I have wanted to try since I began to see it around the Instagram AB Community. COSRX have ventured into the world of sheet masks for the first time with this sheet mask and dare I say… they snailed it! Ouch yes, I know, really lame! haha, I couldn’t help myself. Of course, this mask has the Snail Mucin us Kbeauty addicts love so much, plus Red Ginseng Water replaces normal water. This mask delivers lots of hydrating goodness into your skin to help firm, plump and increase elasticity. The mask is also infused with Japonica Seed Oil too. It’s also not a white mask, but peach in colour.
Laneige Hand Sleeping Ball | RRP £1.00 approx
This cute little Laneige Hand Sleeping Ball is an overnight mask to provide moisture to your hands. Our hands suffer a lot of wear and tear on an average day and I think a lot of us neglect them and don’t really give our hands the care and attention they need. Containing Coconut Oil and Shea Butter, fruit & Algae extracts, this overnight hand cream mask will help alleviate dry, rough skin on your hands, leaving them feeling soft and smooth.
Heimish Mini Lip Kit Palette | RRP £ 3.80 approx
I’ve only been familiar with skin care products from this brand before, so this Heimish Mini Lip Kit Palette is a lovely discovery. This classy little palette has colours from two collections of Heimish Lipsticks. All 5 of the colours are very wearable. They have a smooth texture and are nice and moisturising on the lips. It’s also a fantastic size to pop into your bag too.
5 Heimish lip colours included:
They claim to have pretty decent staying power too but I would have to put that to the test to see how they wear.
Etude House Dear Darling Water Tint | RRP £4.41 yesstyle.co.uk
Etude House Dear Darling Water Tint is the last item in the September 2016 Bomibox. This is the Cherry Ade shade. This tint is really lovely to use. It smells so fruity and tints the lips effortlessly. It dries quickly too. In the above picture, the left is right after applying, and on the right is literally a few seconds later and it was dry.
My Overall Thoughts on the Bomibox for September 2016
I’d been looking forward to seeing the contents of the first September 2016 Bomibox since I came across it. I’ve awaited the launch box with eager anticipation and it hasn’t disappointed me at all. With firm Kbeauty favourite brands such as COSRX, Missha, Etude House, Innisfree, Mediheal and Laneige and popular new brands on the Kbeauty scene like Heimish, this box has it all. Everything was full size and the Etude House Dear Darling Water Tint was an extra sample size, as was the sample of COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. With 8 full-sized KBeauty products in this box, it was a really well-curated, strong launch box.
I already know one item for the October box due to that tempting Sneak Peek on the Bomibox website. It’s another Kbeauty favourite. I won’t spoil you though but I will spoil myself because well, I have no willpower not to look, what can I say! I am really looking forward to seeing what Kbeauty products are curated for this month’s box.
Well done to Ru and her team for bringing about Bomibox. I’d also like to thank her for being so active and such a fantastic member of the Instagram ABcommunity. Bomibox has given so generously to our community and has really invested their time in forming a fantastic relationship with everyone. They have already given back so much with some amazing giveaways. The passion and driving force of Ru shines through clearly; she loves Kbeauty and she loves the community. I mean, who wouldn’t though, we happen to be such an awesome bunch of people, right? 😀
In all seriousness though, if you can only afford to subscribe to one Korean Beauty box, make it this one. You will not be disappointed. Oh, but that’s another thing. You get a 100% Happiness Guarantee with Bomibox.
100% HAPPINESS GUARANTEE
If you’re not happy, send the box back and you get a replacement box or a refund, your choice with no questions asked. The End
I cannot think of any other subscription box that offers that kind of guarantee.
