Can you believe it’s already November? The leaves are turning, and there’s a crispness in the air that just screams cosy nights in! Speaking of cosy, I’ve just unboxed my Degusta Box for October 2024, and let me tell you, it’s packed with some great treats that are perfect for this time of year. Andy is also planning to put my Christmas tree up in my room this coming week. Yes, it always goes up sometime in November! But, as usual, I digress, so let’s see what the October box featured.
What is Degusta Box All About?
So, if you are new here and have never heard of Degusta Box UK I’ll quickly explain what it is and how it works.
Degusta Box UK is a monthly subscription box that contains between 10-15 items each month, most of which are new to the market. The products are chosen and put together by a team of specialists who look for foods that are versatile, innovative, and delicious. You can read some of my reviews for previous boxes here. It costs £14.99 per month. You can also find a discount at the end of the post. So, that means you’ll pay just £9.99 for your first box!
Degusta Box October 2024 Theme
No theme again for the October box and it features 10 brands and 11 products. A lot of sweet items in this box, which I always like!
Contents of the October Degusta Box 2024
Sweet Items
Márdel Alfajor Dulce de Leche Blanco or Negro (£1.50 ea)
You would have received both of these in the Degusta Box for October 2024. They’re a soft cookie with dulce de leche sandwiched in the middle. I tried the milk chocolate one but even though the filling was delicious, I found the cookie itself a bit dry and bland. Not something I would choose to eat again to be completely honest.
Available in international Latin shops
Chewits Fruity Jewels (£1.30)
I enjoyed these Chewits Fruity Jewels, although quite firm they’re still plenty soft enough. They have a lovely fruity flavour to them too.
Available in Tesco, Morrisons, The Range and Aldi
Carnation Condensed Milk 397g Tin (£2.39** ea)
So quick and convenient to keep in your pantry for whenever you bake. You can’t beat it!
** Retail price is at the sole discretion of the retailer.
Available in major supermarkets
Brioche Pasquier Pancakes (£2.20ea)
These pancakes are so soft and light. As they are packed in twos it keeps them nice and fresh till you are ready to eat them. All the convenience and all the flavour!
Available in Morrisons and the Co-op
Three Robins Little Smoothies (£1.89ea)
All my kids are adults now but I can still appreciate these little smoothies. They have a base of oat milk combined with fruit and hidden veg – we know how a lot of little ones feel about veggies. Ideal for lunchboxes or just as a snack. They’re also low in sugar and fortified with extra vitamins and minerals. Available in two flavours, Super Berry and Totally Tropical. You would have received one of the two available flavours in your October Degusta Box.
Available to order on Three Robins website.
Product of the Month
Barilla Pesto Genovese (£3.35** ea)
Pesto is not something I eat. I just don’t like the taste. Ugh, I am such a picky eater! Anyway, this pesto is made from 100% Italian fresh Basil Leaves from sustainable agriculture and Parmigiano Reggiano PDO. It takes less than three hours from mixing to being put in the jar. To preserve, the colour, aroma and original taste it is mixed cold.
** Retail price is at the sole discretion of the retailer.
Available in Ocado, Amazon, Co-op and Morrisons (selected stores)
Condiments & Seasoning
Knorr White Wine Stock Pot (£1.90** ea)
Last month we received the Knorr Red Wine Stock Pot and this month we have the new white wine one. This is perfect for casseroles and risotto. So another great stock pot to keep stocked in your pantry.
** Retail price is at the sole discretion of the retailer.
Available in major supermarkets
Savoury Items
SlooOW Rustic Multigrain Baguette (£1.60)
I remember having a SlooOW baguette in a previous Degusta Box but I can’t remember if this is the exact one or not. This was so nice. You can’t beat fresh warm bread. It’s an organic and 100% natural Rustic Multigrain Baguette rolled with tasty grains, seeds and kernels.
Available in Tesco and Hello Fresh
PROPER Tangy Chilli or Smokey Paprika or Cracked Black Pepper & Sea Salt (£1.90)
Say hello to the new savoury range of PROPERCORN. You would have received one of the three available flavours in your October box. High in fibre, plus wholegrains are a source of magnesium and zinc.
Available at ASDA and Ocado
Tarczyński Kabanos Extreme Piri Piri (£2.30)
I didn’t try these myself but Andy and my daughter tried them and enjoyed them. Although my daughter did say they were a bit too spicy for her. They make a perfect on-the-go snack and they are also packed with protein
Available in the world food aisle of all major supermarkets
Final Thoughts On The Degusta Box October 2024
I was a lot happier with the Degusta Box for October 2024, it felt like there were more items that I liked.
Out of all the items, my top three picks were the Chewits Fruity Jewels, the Brioche Pasquier Pancakes and the Carnation Condensed Milk.
